Y6 Science – Light

The children in Jaguar class (Y6) have today started their learning on their Science topic of ‘Light’.

They’ve focused today on learning how and where lights travels, and produced models / diagrams of their learning.

Y6 Hockey

Our ‘Wonderfully Made’ Day

Today the children took part in a ‘Wonderfully Made’ day. This was intended to teach the children about diversity and how we are all different as well as the importance of respect.

The children rotated around 4 different activities, which included:

Values through Art

Brazilian Culture

Respect in Sport

Bhangra Dancing

It was an excellent day, made even better by the beautiful sunshine. The children learnt a lot about the diverse world we live in and the importance of treating everybody with dignity and respect. The day concluded with a real celebration in the school hall, where children and staff took part in various Bhangra style dances.

Spanish Club

Spanish Club resumed sessions this afternoon and it was as fun as ever.

The children revisited some of the vocabulary learnt in previous sessions and learned some new words, as we explored a known story (Little Red Riding Hood) in Spanish: La Caperucita Roja.

Yr.6 Parents – Deadline for Free School Transport 31st May 2022

Any parents/carers of year 6 pupils, who wish to apply for free school transport for their child/children from September 2022, should do so before 31^st May 2022. Applications can be made online at https://shropshire.gov.uk/school-transport/ or over the phone with the Council’s Customer Service Team by calling 0345 6789008. Alternatively, should you require a paper copy of the application form, please do not hesitate to contact the school or Passenger Transport directly via email, schooltransport@shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone on the above telephone number. It is important to explain that, if the application is not received by 31^st May 2021, the Authority may be unable to provide transport for the beginning of the autumn term 2022 and parents/carers will need to make their own transport arrangements. Access to school transport is not permitted until entitlement has been confirmed.

Y6 Archery event

The Year 6s travelled to the Ironworks, Oswestry to experience an afternoon of archery, where they had the opportunity to use recurve bows for the first time, aiming at larger targets. They also viewed Max Oakley, a 14 year old Great Britain archer showing off his skills too from a 50 metre distance.
