5.10.26 Collaboration day for Rhino Class!
Rhino class spent the day with Year 3 from Baschurch Primary School on Monday 5th October, at The Stone Age Company, near Shifnal. We all enjoyed stepping back in time to experience what life was like during the Stone Age through a range of exciting, hands-on activities and experiences. It was a brilliant day for all!

Well done to Miri, who has received a wonderful letter from the Shropshire Wildlife Trust. Miri wrote to the trust over the summer to let them know how keen she is about making sure we all care for the environment. The Shropshire Wildlife Trust are impressed by Miri’s dedication and have rewarded her efforts by inviting the class on a trip to the Nature Reserve and Recycling Centre! Please see the letter for more details. We will arrange this for the future. Well done to Miri!

Thank you to Ottilie’s Mum who has sent through the link to a wonderful event happening at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.
The Mammoth Anniversary and Apple Day is taking place on 26th September. It will be a celebration of 40 years since the Condover mammoth discovery alongside our delicious apple harvest celebrations. A great way to learn more about the wonderful character who appears in our English text ‘The First Drawing’!

Rhino class have been wonderful this week. They have all worked so hard to get used to more of their new routines and classroom. We are so proud of how all children in Rhinos have shown that they can try their best to be as independent as they can, listen well, be respectful and kind towards everyone and above all try their best.
The week has been full of activities and tasks – from learning about place value up to 10,000, exploring modal verbs, how to use punctuation for effect, researching and recording how people survived in the stone age, computing and using animation skills, progressing with guided reading skills, being great scientists, spellings, times tables, sports and much more! Well done, Rhinos!!
Thank you to all parents for your support and patience in getting things up and running too!

10.9.26 The pupils in Rhino class have been enjoying programming in their Computing lessons using the Scratch app with Mr Hughes.

We are just about getting sorted with making sure we have times tables activities and routines ready to get up and running. As mentioned previously, the children have access to TTRockstars – an online maths platform for learning multiplication and division. There won’t be any specific set assignments on here, but there are different game modes available (which will link to the level your child is working at) to practice times tables.
We completely understand that not all children learn best online and some children aren’t able to access online systems. Please do not worry if you choose to learn times tables another way. I will provide some alternatives too.

The children in Rhino class have been given their EdShed login details – these have been stuck into the front of their reading record. There were a few children who had forgotten their record book, so they will get their sticker tomorrow.
They have been given a new blue book which will be used to keep their paper copy of their spelling lists safe. They can also use this book to write their spellings out. The children have been asked to treat this book just like their reading record and bring it to school each day.
