Toys/Fidget Toys

Please can we ask that pupils do NOT bring any toys into school, this includes fidget toys. Children only need to bring their school/reading books in their school bag, a coat, water bottle and their packed lunch if this is applicable.

If any toys are brought in they will be held by the class teacher and returned to parents at the end of the day.

If you have any questions please either speak to Mr Glover or Mrs Smith

Thank you for your support.

Positive Case – Panda Class

We have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Panda Class.

We would encourage everyone in this Class to book a PCR test as soon as possible. Please note a Lateral Flow test is not acceptable for those classed as close contacts.

Please do not send your child in to school if they have any COVID-19 symptoms. If you have any questions please refer to the local authority guidance which was sent home with every child on Friday. A key point in this guidance is that your child cannot come to school if there is a positive case in your household.

Y6 Sports Leaders

The group of Y6 sports leaders have been doing a great job during this half term to make sure that they have provided children throughout the school with the opportunity to take part in different sporting activities during lunchtime. They announce their weekly winners in Friday’s celebration assembly and present them with certificates which they have created themselves. This week, they held a skipping competition…….

Y5&6 Tag Rugby Tournament

Well done to the ten Y5&6 boys and girls who represented Myddle CE Primary at a Tag Rugby competition this morning at Corbet School. The children performed very well and gained a great amount from the experience, winning two and drawing one of their five games. A special mention to Sophie, our player of the tournament, who made some great runs with the ball, got on the scoresheet herself and knew the rules of the game really well. It was great to have the opportunity to take part in competitive fixtures again against other local schools.

Here are some of the photographs of the team in action………

Tesco Winter Food Collection

Every year at Tesco in Shrewsbury we ask our very generous customers to help us collect long-life items of food for our charity partners FairShare and The Trussell Trust in the summer and at winter.
We collected over 900k meals when we did this in July across the UK, and we are hoping this food collection will be even more successful.
To help us, we would like you to ask your school community to donate tins, items of long-life food like pasta, soups, and dried goods from the shopping list below. We would kindly ask everyone to bring these into a central collection point in school or into our stores when shopping.
Shopping list
Tinned Meat/Fish
Tinned Fruit and Puddings
Tinned Vegetables
UHT Milk
Cooking Sauces

Our collection is taking place in store from Thursday the 18th to Saturday the 20th of November and there will be a donation point at the front of the store.

All customer donations will be topped up by Tesco by 20% in cash.

Who are our two charity partners?

The Trussell Trust – support foodbanks to provide three days of emergency food to individuals and families in crisis. Visit the www.trusselltrust.org.uk Trussell Trust website for more details.

FairShare (who we collect for at Tesco Extra Shrewsbury) – is a UK-wide charity that redistributes food that would otherwise go to waste to charities and community groups who turn the food into nutritious meals and provide life-changing support. Visit www.FareShare.org.uk website to learn more

How else can you help?

We are looking for volunteers to talk to customers and remind them to buy an extra item or two to donate in store over the collection. Please visit https://fareshare.org.uk/foodcollection/

  • Spread the word about the collection, encourage parents to drop into the store and donate an item or two as part of their weekly shop.

We are so grateful for your support and look forward to seeing you in store with your collections and hearing about the generosity of your school at what we know will be such a challenging time for so many this winter.
