Working from Home Y5&6 – Friday 24th April 2020

After the Easter two-week break, it has probably been a hard week for the children, having to get back into a routine of working from home. However, from what I’ve seen, they’ve shown great focus and resilience throughout the week. It must be difficult for both the children and yourselves, so a huge thank you for keeping up their concentration levels and high expectations. Hopefully you’ve been enjoying the ‘Highlights from Home’ pages that I’ve been uploading each evening.

Here’s Friday’s timetable of learning from home.

Highlights from Home Y5&6 – Thursday 23rd April 2020

Yet again, another beautiful day outside, so hopefully you all got a chance to experience the outdoor life. Hopefully, the children enjoyed learning about their chosen sports person and turning their notes into the start of a biography today. It’s been great to read the examples that have been created so far. It looks like many of the children enjoyed making their hummus (even though they may not have liked the taste!). For those who chose the phoenix’s eye, it may get frustrating along the way, but it’s worth it in the end.

Thanks to our star spellers today, we’ve now climbed into 7th place in the world!

And then, after all of her hard work this morning, she enjoyed some ‘down time’ with the dogs in the garden.
Here’s the rest of the highlights from today’s learning at home. I hope you enjoy it and gain inspiration from all the effort that these children/parents have been putting in at home. I certainly have!

Highlights from Home Y5&6 – Wednesday 22nd April 2020

Yet again, the Y5&6 children proved how fantastic they are and demonstrated a great work ethic at home today. They really are an inspiration to the rest of the school on keeping that focus and concentration, even though they aren’t in their usual learning environment. Currently, they have now climbed to 16th in the world rankings on Spelling Shed and I’ve no doubt that they will be aiming to get back into that top 10 by the end of the week.

Here’s today’s ‘Highlights from Home’
Wednesday’s 22.4.20 Highlights from Home Y5&6

Nelly would also like to read to you again as well as showing you her typing skills.

Let’s Celebrate

During these challenge times, it has been so rewarding, through use of technology, to not only set work but to receive work from pupils and updates of what they have been up to. With Myddle school being such a small community, it feels so strange being apart from each other, so it is with pleasure that I can share some of the wonderful work and activities our pupils have been up to while at home. Parents, you are doing an amazing job, helping your children at home, many of you juggling school work and work of your own. So we take our hats of to you. We also appreciate your messages over Dojo as we are all here to help when help is needed.

We enjoy seeing the wonderful things everyone has been up to on a daily basis and would like to share these with you. They are truly something to celebrate. We hope you enjoy the video.

Keep well and keep safe

Mr Glover

Highlights from Home Y5&6 – Tuesday 21st April 2020

I’ve been so busy today (which is great) because of the amount of photographs or messages about what the children have been producing at home today. It’s been wonderful to see! Thanks to some amazing spelling efforts on Spelling Shed, our class are now back up to 24th in the world! When you see the opening slide below, you will be amazed at some of the individual efforts on Spelling Shed today! It was also nice to see a smiley Holly H as I was running through Myddle later this afternoon.

Here’s the ‘Highlights from Home’ for today. (See below)
