Shrewsbury Town FC in the Community ‘Reading the Game’ lesson 1

Neil Homer, from Shrewsbury Town FC in the community delivered the first of his block of ‘Reading the Game’ football lessons to the Y6 Jaguar class this morning. The children all enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next one. Well done to Matilda and William who were chosen by Coach Neil as the pupils of the session because of their excellent attitude, effort, listening and team work.☝️⚽️

U11s Boys football

The Myddle U11s football team were so pleased with their performances this afternoon in a tournament at Shrewsbury Town FC. Out of the 7 games that they played, they won 3 of them, 3-0, 1-0 and 2-0! They were their first victories of the year, including their first goals of year, scored by Elvin (4) and Oliver CM (2). Well done everybody. You all contributed really well to some great team performances.

Y6 Jaguars Design and Technology

In preparation for making a ‘marble run’ in Design&Technology, the Y6s were set a challenge of creating the tallest free standing paper tube structure this afternoon, with different degrees of success! They’ve learned a lot about the importance of solidity and sturdiness to ensure that they structure stays upright in the future.

Y5&6 Tri-golf

Some of our Y5&6 pupils enjoyed an afternoon in Market Drayton today, taking part in a ‘tri-golf’ event, learning different golf based skills. Thank you to Mrs Emerton Maka for going with the children to this event.

Y5&6 Indoor Athletics

CONGRATULATIONS to our Y5&6 Indoor Athletics squad who have qualified through to the final of the North Shropshire School Games, having finished 1st in both the Boys and Girls events at the Corbet School earlier this week.

As part of their topic of ‘Rivers’, the Y6s were today focusing their studies on ‘dams’, which culminated in them working in small groups to demonstrate the purpose of a dam.

Y6 Science

After two weeks of waiting, the Y6s gathered the results to their Science investigation today, identifying the conditions of the eggs (teeth) after placing them in coffee, coke, water, milk and orange juice. Needless to say, the observations weren’t too pleasant!
