Y5 Crimebusters Day

The Y5 pupils in Jaguar class travelled to Shrewsbury School today for a Crimebusters Day, where they took part in a series of physics / chemistry and biology based activities to solve the crime of ‘who stole the dog?’ Everybody really enjoyed the day and it was superbly organised by Shrewsbury School.

Flag Football

Today, 10 boys in Jaguar class were chosen to gain more experience in the new, exciting game of Flag Football, which will also appear in the Olympics for the first time, this year in Paris. It’s a mixture of tag rugby and NFL. We learned more about the rules and skills involved this morning before playing in some games this afternoon. Hopefully the children will be inspired to enjoy playing the game more in the future whilst also teaching the other children in school how to play.

Y5&6 Local History Study

The children in Y5&6 today walked to Myddle Castle to study the ruins. A huge thank you to Mrs Linda Savage and Mrs Chris Williams for given up their time and sharing their knowledge of the local area with the children. Also, thank you to Mrs Everall for allowing us onto her land to get a closer look at the castle.

KS2 Cross-country at The Quarry

Congratulations to the 24 children in KS2 who were selected to represent the school in a cross-country event at The Quarry this afternoon. The event was really well organised by Shrewsbury School and it was very kind of them to transport the pupils using their minibuses. Thanks to Mrs Harris and our sports coach Neil for attending this event with the pupils.

Y5&6 Girls football

Well done to the 10 Y5&6 girls who represented the school in a football tournament at Corbet School this morning. After getting through to the semi-finals with goals from Francesca and Olivia, they lost 1-0 in a tight game and therefore finished in 3rd overall. Some excellent performances from the girls. Thank you to Mrs Harris and our sports coach Paris for taking the girls on this occasion.⚽️

KS2 Clive Cross-Country event

A huge well done to all of the participants from Myddle in the KS2 Clive Cross-Country event on Saturday. In what was difficult weather conditions above and underfoot, the pupils produced some outstanding running, both individually and as a team. Also a big thank you to all of the parents who went to support and supervise the children at the event.
