A huge well done to all of the participants from Myddle in the KS2 Clive Cross-Country event on Saturday. In what was difficult weather conditions above and underfoot, the pupils produced some outstanding running, both individually and as a team. Y5&6 boys football friendly matches v Baschurch

A great effort from our two boys football teams that took part in friendly matches v Baschurch after school today. Both of our 6-a-side games too place with great sportsmanship, with both teams committed. Team A lost 4-2, with a great strike from Dexter and a right-footed finish from Finley, whilst Team B were defeated 8-2, with a well taken goal from Bertie and a nice finish from Rowan. Jayden and Riley pulled off some great saves in goal too!
It was great to give more children the opportunity to represent the school in a competitive football match and they would’ve learned a lot from it. ⚽️ Thank you to those who came to suppprt the teams.

Y5&6 Basketball tournament

Well done to the Y5&6 basketball teams who took part in a tournament yesterday at Corbet School. It was a great experience for them to be in competitive matches in basketball and further opportunity for the Y6s to use the sports hall at Corbet School in preparation for attending there next year.

Y5&6 Girls football

Well done to the Y5&6 girls who represented the school in a recent football competition at Shrewsbury Town. Playing in four games, they won 1, drew 1 and lost 2. It was a great experience for them.

Number Day

Today, children took part in Number Day.

All the children were placed in their sport’s day houses for the day and rotated around four different maths related activities in each class.

In Panda Class, children learnt how to complete Sudoku puzzles using colour and shapes to help their understanding, while in Tiger Class they played bingo and used the laptops to access x tables rock stars to work on their x tables. In Rhino class, they played board games to work on their number skills and calculations and in Jaguar Class, children played games including a musical chairs style fitness activity involving number as well as calculation games using positive and negative numbers.

It was a great day and it was so nice to see our older children being able to support and encourage our younger children. We would definitely like to do something like this again. Thank you to all staff and teaching assistants for helping to organise such a successful day.

Thank you also to all parents for helping the children dress so creatively. I think the children have had a great day!
