Y5&6 Hockey

Well done to the 10 children who were chosen to represent the school this morning in a hockey tournament at Corbet School. They all worked really hard, were great role models for the school and took part with smiles on their faces. A huge congratulations to Myddle team 1 who won the competition after beating West Felton 5-0 in the final, having earlier finished top of their group. A great effort from the whole squad of children.

 

Y6 Jaguar class – English – Instruction texts

The children in Jaguar class (Y6) have been making scrambled egg on toast this morning as part of their English instruction text studies. Here they are in their making process…..

 

Y6 PE – Dance

During the last three weeks, many of the Y6 pupils have been developing their rhythm in dance lessons with Alisha in PE.

Y5&6 Indoor Athletics Competition

This morning, 16 pupils from Myddle CE Primary School headed to the Corbet School to take part in an indoor athletics competition against other local schools. The children took part in a variety of running, throwing and jumping events and the overall scores of all of the pupils were added together at the end of the event. The children below all finished in the top 3 pupils in either one or both of their ‘field’ events.

In the running events, the children competed in relay races in pairs or groups of four. Showing great team spirit and effective baton changes, our teams finished in strong positions in many of the races.

Because the girls finished in 2nd place, they have now qualified through to the County School Games finals later in the year! Well done to the girls and boys for their great performances individually and as a team!

Science Y6 – The Human Body (Circulatory system)

This afternoon, the children in Jaguar class began the first lesson of their new science topic ‘Animals including Humans’. The focus today was to study the circulatory system of the human body, recognising the functions of the heart, blood and blood vessels. The children identified the different parts of the human heart and how/why blood travels around the body.

Y4,5&6 Christmas performance 2022-2023

The pupils in Rhino and Jaguar class produced two wonderful Christmas performance today. It was lovely to see the audience enjoy it so much as all of the children have worked so hard both at home and at school to put the production together. Well done to all of the cast and singers on their performances!

Y5&6 Basketball

Well done to the children who were chosen to represent Myddle CE Primary in a basketball competition this morning at Corbet School. Out of the 10 teams that took part, our two teams finished in 3rd and 4th places, behind the two strong Baschurch teams. A superb effort by all of the pupils involved.

Y4,5 and 6 football matches

Well done to the 8 pupils in Y4, 5 and 6 who represented Myddle in two football games after school today. They played some great football and developed in confidence and organisation as the games progressed, with 1-0 and 3-1 victories.

Y2&3 Tiger class PE (Gymnastics)

Tiger class (Y2/3) have been improvng their gymnastics skills with coach Neil in PE today, developing their body posture using different balances, including pike and straddle.
