Y5&6 Indoor Athletics

CONGRATULATIONS to our Y5&6 Indoor Athletics squad who have qualified through to the final of the North Shropshire School Games, having finished 1st in both the Boys and Girls events at the Corbet School earlier this week.

Y6 Geography

As part of their topic of ‘Rivers’, the Y6s were today focusing their studies on ‘dams’, which culminated in them working in small groups to demonstrate the purpose of a dam.

Girls football

Well done to the 7 pupils in Y4,5 and 6 who represented the school in a girls football match against Prees after school today. After taking a 1-0 lead thanks to a well taken finish from Beau, the girls continued to fight bravely throughout the game but were unable to snatch a late equaliser and fell to a 2-1 defeat. A great effort all-round though and thank you to all of the parents who helped to transport the children to and from the game to allow this event to take place.

Y6 Jaguar class – Science

The Y6 Jaguar class pupils were learning about the digestive system today in Science.

Y6 Jaguar Art

They Y6 Jaguar class, as part of their art work topic of ‘Plants and Flowers’, really enjoyed their ‘hapa zome’ printing technique today to produce what you can see on the display board……

Y6 Science

After two weeks of waiting, the Y6s gathered the results to their Science investigation today, identifying the conditions of the eggs (teeth) after placing them in coffee, coke, water, milk and orange juice. Needless to say, the observations weren’t too pleasant!

Y6 Art

As part of their Art topic of ‘Plants and Flowers’, the Y6s used the technique of wiring today to create some superb flowers to go along with their flowers using paper from last week. 🌷💐🥀🪴 Here’s our class display, demonstrating how talented some of the pupils are in their creativity.

Y6 Geography

As part of the Y6s Geography topic of ‘Rivers’, the pupils used different art resources to demonstrate ‘erosion’ and ‘deposition’ as a river meanders on it’s journey.

Y6 Science

Today, the children worked in groups to begin their investigation on which drinks cause teeth to decay the most.

Y4 Dodgeball

Well done to the children in Year 4 who were chosen to represent the school in a dodgeball competition at Corbet School today. The two teams showed some great teamwork and spirit, finishing in 2nd and 9th places. Thank you to Mrs Harris for helping to transport and support the team at this event. Great effort everybody!
