KS2 Netball competition

Well done to the 14 children in KS2 who represented the school this morning in a netball competition at Corbet School.
Myddle team A played 6 matches, winning 3, drawing 1 and losing 2, finishing in 5th place overall out of the 13 teams who entered. Myddle team B played 6 matches, winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 3, finishing in 6th place.
A great effort from all of the players. Thank you to Mrs Emerton Maka and Mrs Hulme for escorting the children to this event.
Here are some photographs of the morning.

End of Summer Term awards

Congratulations to all of the ‘stars’ of the Summer Term. Each child was a worthy winner – however, it’s not an easy decision for the teachers to select only 3 pupils out of the whole class for the awards. A lot of careful thought and consideration goes into the decision and so many other children would be worthy of winning each award. Keep working hard everybody – your teachers and teaching assistants are always watching.

KS2 Mini Athletics

This morning, a group of 16 pupils from Y3,4,5 and 6 were selected to represent Myddle Primary in a mini athletics event at Corbet School. The pupils took part in some running, throwing and jumping events on the school field. For many of the pupils, it was their first / one of their first opportunities to represent their school in a sports event and they all did really well. Well done in particular to Iyla Tucker who finished 1st in the long jump. We hope all of the children enjoyed it and it has encouraged them to want to be selected on more occasions to represent their school in sport.

Thank you to Mrs Owen and Mrs Emerton Maka for taking and supporting the children at this event.

What a performance this morning from the Y5&6 basketball team 🏀🏆🥇who won 6 out of 6 matches at the Corbet School. Archie and William displayed some superb dribbling and shooting, Olivia defended superbly and it was great to see how confident Eve became once she had scored in the opening game. 2-0, 7-0, 3-0, 1-0, 4-0 and 2-1 victories ensured that our team of 4 won the competition. They all showed a great competitiveness whilst also demonstrate fair play and sporting behaviour too. It was a privilege to watch! Well done everybody.

Y5&6 Indoor Athletics North Shropshire finals

Huge congratulations to all of the children who were chosen to represent the school in the indoor athletics finals at Ellesmere College today, having qualified from last month. Yet again, the pupils had to compete in relay races of various distances, speed bounce, javelin, long jump, triple jump, vertical jump and chest push. Despite taking on all of the qualified schools from North Shropshire, the Myddle pupils compete to a strong standard and performed superbly in each event. A special mention to Isla, Ruby and Aria who were selected by the organisers as demonstrating ‘passion’ in their performance, which is one of the School Games values. Well done everybody!
