Survey for parents on home-learning

Attached is a short survey from us at the school to find out how things are going for you at home and if there is any way we can help you further.

We really would appreiciate you taking some to fill it in and return it to us via email. All the details are in the attachment.

Prepositional phrase (position) – Above my head, at the edge of the narrow street,

Simile (like or as)- glowing like the embers of a fire, as bright as a star

Good luck!

Year 6 Hoodies

Please can Year 6 parents check their emails for an message from Mrs Smith/Mrs Collins regarding the Hoodies.

Mrs Collins has been working extremely hard to get these sorted for us but needs some of the children to amend their choice of colours.

If you have any questions please email Mrs Smith on admin@myddle.shropshire.sch.uk

Let’s Celebrate

During these challenge times, it has been so rewarding, through use of technology, to not only set work but to receive work from pupils and updates of what they have been up to. With Myddle school being such a small community, it feels so strange being apart from each other, so it is with pleasure that I can share some of the wonderful work and activities our pupils have been up to while at home. Parents, you are doing an amazing job, helping your children at home, many of you juggling school work and work of your own. So we take our hats of to you. We also appreciate your messages over Dojo as we are all here to help when help is needed.

We enjoy seeing the wonderful things everyone has been up to on a daily basis and would like to share these with you. They are truly something to celebrate. We hope you enjoy the video.

Keep well and keep safe

A Square of Numbers

Can you put the numbers 1 to 8 into the circles so that the four calculations are correct?

square of sums
Remember, you might need to show real perseverance and keep trying until you find a solution. Also, is there only one solution? Can anyone find 2 ways of solving the problem?

Panda Class Monday 20th April 2020

Hello Panda Parents/Carers, I hope you are all well and have had a good Easter break.

Thank you so much for your continued positivity in continuing to support your child’s learning at home. The sunflowers are all doing well and getting quite tall! I will send some pictures on ClassDojo.

I have put together some links for this week’s learning.

There are links to:

How to use the correct letter formation when forming lower case letters. If at all possible, please do all 26 over the next couple of weeks. This uses the Read Write Inc rhymes too which your child will recognise.  I really believe that using the correct letter formation from the start is far easier than having to undo ‘bad habits’ in later years.

Talk for Writing – This is in the form of a booklet which guides children and their adults through guided literacy exercises. This is a great resource and starts with a text and then followed by lots of ‘talk for writing’, so important for early writers.

In Maths this week we are looking at Composition using the Part / Whole Method. (Adding 2 numbers to find the whole/total). To put this in to more context there is a link to The Main Areas of Early Years Maths (From the National Centre for excellence in the teaching of Mathematics) Then there is a link to a YouTube video showing the Part / Whole model for adding.

I hope you have a great week – if you need any help/support at all please do contact me through ClassDojo.

Best wishes
