Round Up – wk 4!

Harvest:  Do join us on Thursday 18th October at St Peter’s Church at 10.30am for our Harvest service.  This year we are asking for donations of food and goodies to make up hampers which will be raffled at the end of the service.  All money raised from the raffle will be donated to Hope House.

Coolmilk:  All children under 5 years are entitled to free school milk.  If you would like your child to continue to receive milk please visit the Coolmilk website  https://www.coolmilk.com/parents/

School Fleeces:  We’ve had some enquiries regarding full zip red fleeces.  SchoolShopDirect can supply these on a preorder basis. http://www.schoolshopdirect.co.uk/

Forest School:  We apologise for the confusion regarding Forest School.  Due to a tree being hit by lightening the area is currently out of bounds.  Remedial work is imminent but we are still outside using the school grounds – Panda: Tuesday morning (can stay in their kit all day), Tiger: Tuesday afternoon, Rhino: Thursday morning (please bring uniform to change into), Jaguar: Wednesday afternoon.

School Dinners:  We have had a fantastic response to the survey.  Please ensure all completed surveys are returned by Friday 5th October.  We are inviting all parents/carers to come and try a school dinner! Look out for a letter which has been sent home today.

Data Sheets:  Thank you for returning your amended data sheets.  Please note, if changes have been made to your details this may affect your Schoolgateway logon.

Drop Off/Pick Up:  We understand how busy it can be in the mornings and at the end of the day.  If you do come by car we ask that you are mindful of other drivers and do not park past the end of the layby in front of school, on the grass areas or the zigzag lines. If dropping into the layby please ensure you ‘tuck in’ so another car can come in behind you.

Sponsorship:  If you or know anyone who might be interested in sponsoring a new kit for our girls/boys football teams please speak to Mr Hughes!

Staffing:  We are delighted to welcome Mrs Wild to the Myddle Team.  She will be joining us as a Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor from next week.

Coats:  Please remember all children need coats in school every day.  Break time is outside unless it is raining and we also walk to church every Thursday.

School Menu:  An up to date menu is being sent home today along with a questionnaire for each child.  We will be inviting parents to join us for lunch during October – dates to be confirmed.

Headlice:  We have had a report of headlice in school.  Please check your children and treat accordingly.

Illness:  There is a tummy bug doing the rounds.  If your child is sick or has diarrhoea they must remain off school for 48 hours from their last bout.  This is to prevent the further spread of infection.

PTA:  The PTA held their first meeting this week so look out for diary dates and events coming soon including the Apple Fest in October.  They are always looking for helpers so do speak to Lianne Farrow or Elaine Downes for more information.
