Classes for September – Update

Dear Parents/Carers

We are pleased to let you know the classroom arrangements for September. The children will all have a transition day on Wednesday 10th July where they will spend the day with their new class teacher. Mr Glover will be at Myddle for this and is really looking forward to meeting the children. He would be happy if any parents want to pop in and say hello at the end of the day.   New Panda children have 3 different transition sessions and a new parents meeting which you will have received a letter about if it affects you. Our school continues to thrive and we are really happy to have 17 new starters in Pandas this year.

The classes will be as follows:

Snow-Leopards (nursery): Jodie Phillips

Panda class (Reception): Mrs McGrath

Tiger class (year 1/2): Mrs Wenlock (Thursdays Mrs Crowe)

Rhino class (year 3/4): Mr Glover

Jaguar class (year 5/6: Mr Hughes

The staffing in the nursery will be slightly flexible as the numbers of children vary during the year. Jodie will be supported by at least one teaching assistant at all times. This will increase depending on the number of 2 year olds and the ratios needed. They will also be working closely with Mrs McGrath in Pandas and her teaching assistants, which will enable lots of free-flow opportunities between the two classes during the afternoons.

Please spread the word that we have lots of nursery places available, as so many of our current Snow-Leopards are starting school in September.  We take children from age 2, and offer 30 hours free childcare when children reach the age of 3. We also do a family session for parent and babies on a Friday, which is a great introduction to our community.

Sports Day 2019

Thank you to all of the parents who were able to support our fabulous children as they took part in the races this afternoon in sports day.  During the morning, all children took place in various track events including archery, ball throw and long jump to name a few.  It was great to witness the sportsmanship between the children and for them to have a go at all the different events.  In my class we realised everyone is good a different things which was a great confidence boost for some pupils.  We were so lucky with the glorious weather this afternoon and the children had fun supporting their houses.
