Y2&3 Tiger class – Science

The children in Tiger class have been showing great scientific enquiry skills in their lesson with Mrs Foster this afternoon. As part of their topic ‘Animals including Humans’, they have been investigating whether or not the length of the femur (thigh bone) affects the distance that a person can jump.

Tiger Class – Computing lesson

This afternoon, we had a joined (Years 2 and 3) Computing Class and it was a resounding success. We are learning about Online Safety, the importance of keeping login details secret and logging out when we finish using our laptops.

Tiger Class – Independent writing

Last week, Tiger Class worked hard on their first independent writing task of this new school year. All classes used the same short film as our inspiration and we will use this piece of work to measure the children’s progress during the year.

Reading at home booklet

All parents should have received a hard copy of our Reading at home last year, but see below the link to that document, in case you need to refer to it.

Reading at Home – Myddle CE Primary School

If you would rather have another hard copy sent home, please drop me a note on Class Dojo and I will provide this as soon as possible. Likewise, if you have any queries about this, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks in advance for your support,

Mrs Crowe

Trip to Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur Park – July 2022

We had a brilliant day at Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur Park! The children loved the impressive dinosaur models and were amazed by all the animals. The meerkats, owls and deer were amongst their favourites.

It was just wonderful to go on a trip again and the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Here is to many more opportunities like this in the future!

‘Brazil’ workshop

We all had a fantastic day! There are many photos and videos to be shared soon. This is just a snapshot of the Brazil-themed workshop.

All children attended 4 different sessions, exploring our Christian values, diversity, learning about other cultures and respect in sport. The energy in School was fantastic and the whole atmosphere was wonderful.

During the Brazil workshop, Mrs Crowe spoke about growing up in South America, shared some interesting facts and introduce the traditions of Carnival. All children decorated a carnival mask to take home. The results were very impressive indeed!

Our ‘Wonderfully Made’ Day

Today the children took part in a ‘Wonderfully Made’ day. This was intended to teach the children about diversity and how we are all different as well as the importance of respect.

The children rotated around 4 different activities, which included:

Values through Art

Brazilian Culture

Respect in Sport

Bhangra Dancing

It was an excellent day, made even better by the beautiful sunshine. The children learnt a lot about the diverse world we live in and the importance of treating everybody with dignity and respect. The day concluded with a real celebration in the school hall, where children and staff took part in various Bhangra style dances.

Literacy work

The Rainbow Group has been reading “The Tin Forest” in our Literacy lessons and they have produced some beautiful and well-thought through settings as they predicted what would happen next in the story.
