Geography lessons

Tigers (Y1 & Y2) have been showing off their new Atlas skills during our Geography lessons this week.

The Gunpowder Plot

We have now finished our first History Topic – The Gunpowder Plot – with an excellent re-enactment of the main events. It was very good!

From next week, we will move on to our next Topic: a much more light-hearted “Toys through History”, which will link nicely with the upcoming festive season.

Tiger Class update – 6th October 2023

What a week we have had in Tiger Class!
From our excellent performance at the Harvest Festival on Tuesday to our special assembly with PC harper yesterday, it was very busy indeed.

All children have completed all our initial assessment papers, and parents will be informed of their results and any other important individual updates in the upcoming parent evening meetings.

Our Stars of the Week were:
Year 1: Lilly
Year 2: Mylah

Next week we are starting a new Literacy unit based on the book “Weirdo”, by Zadie Smith, and some selected children will be going to Shrewsbury Town Football Club for a Football Festival morning on Friday.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget those Homework books on Monday.

Tiger Class update

This week, we are embedding our routines in Class and finishing off the first few units of work.

Both year groups are finishing their first Maths unit (Number and Place Value), and will start work on the next topic (Addition and Subtraction) next week. Their homework will reflect that.

We are also fully engrossed in the Gunpowder Plot History topic, so expect children talking about explosives for the next few weeks.

They have also been busy learning the songs for our Harvest service next week.

In English, we have finished out work with “Pumpkin Soup” and “The Three Little Pigs” and will have a focus on Grammar and Spelling for the next week, before starting on our next Class book.

Hope this information is useful.

Please let me know if you have any queries,
Mrs Crowe

Tiger Class trip to Chester – Deva Discovery Centre

A day to remember!
Our trip to Chester and the Deva Roman Centre was brilliant. They marched, laughed, pretended, and learned lots!
