Curriculum letter – Tiger Class – Autumn 2023

Shropshire libraries getting children set to read with fun and games in summer challenge

Children aged from 4 to 12 across Shropshire are being encouraged to join in the fun and games of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge happening across at libraries in the county.

Young readers can join a superstar team and their marvellous mascots, and get involved in the Ready Set Read Summer Reading Challenge which is themed around the power of play, sport, games and physical activity.

Shropshire Council’s libraries service will be running Summer Reading Challenge activities and events at all its branches from Saturday 8 July until Friday 15 September 2023.

Alongside the Summer Reading Challenge, Shropshire libraries staff and volunteers will be running family-friendly activities throughout the summer.

Tiger Class trip to Chester – Deva Discovery Centre

A day to remember!
Our trip to Chester and the Deva Roman Centre was brilliant. They marched, laughed, pretended, and learned lots!

King Charles’ coronation

This week, we have focused on this historical event, culminating with a whole day of activities about the coronation of King Charles III.

Tiger Class has created another one of our collaborative collages to celebrate the occasion, which is now displayed in our classroom.

Coronation Week

It’s Coronation week! So, for the next few days, we will be learning a bit more about the new King and this historical moment.

Y2 multi-sports event

Well done to the pupils in Y2 who were selected to take part in a multi-sports non-competitive event at Corbet School this morning. The children all had a great time taking part in the activities and demonstrated excellent behaviour both at the venue and whilst travelling to and from the event. Thank you to Mrs Emerton Maka for taking the pupils to this event.

After School Tennis Club

Unfortunately due to lack of numbers, after school tennis club on a Tuesday will not go ahead after todays session.

You will receive a full refund if you have signed up for this club and paid on ParentPay.

Todays session will still go ahead with Mr Hughes and pick up time is 4pm.

Many Thanks

Happy Easter, Tiger Class!

Happy Easter, Tiger Class!

As usual, there’s no set homework for the holidays. Just enjoy your break, read your favourite books, eat plenty of chocolate and come back ready for a brilliant Summer Term.
