Edible Sparklers

Friday 7th November

We made edible sparklers where we used melted chocolate and sprinkles to create our yummy sparklers. The children enjoyed watching the chocolate melt before we could dip our breadsticks and add our sprinkles.

Bonfire Night

This week Snow Leopards have been really busy, we have done lots of craft activities relating to Bonfire night and fireworks. We made water colour fireworks, hand print bonfire pictures and hedgehog hand print pictures. We have also done lots of Maths on Space, Shape and Measure, we have completed insert puzzles, looked at shapes and their names and building towers.

Harvest

In Snow Leopards we have been looking at our topic Harvest.  The children have enjoyed shadow matching fruit and vegetables, role play at a fruit and veg shop and learning about all different crops that grow above and below the ground. The children have also enjoyed being creative and creating a scarecrow hat collage and a cotton reel printing of a tractor.

Hello Yellow – World Mental Health Day

Dear parents and carers,
Our school will be taking part in Hello Yellow on Friday 10th October (World
Mental Health Day) to raise awareness and funds for YoungMinds, the UK’s
leading charity for young people’s mental health.
No young person should feel alone with their mental health and that’s why
Hello Yellow matters. We’re taking this opportunity as a school community to
come together and show our students that we’re with them and they’re never
alone with their mental health.

We’ll be taking part by wearing YELLOW on Friday 10th October.

You can also donate to support our school’s fundraising YoungMinds – Myddle CE Primary School

Most importantly, we want to share the resources which YoungMinds offer to
support parents and carers if you ever need help and advice to support your
children. This includes:
• online resources (www.youngminds.org.uk/parent/)
• a phone line, open 9.30am-4pm (0808 802 5544)
• an online chat for parents and carers to speak to trained
professionals if you’re concerned about your children’s mental
health (www.youngminds.org.uk/parents-helpline/)

Mother’s Day tea party.

On Friday 28th March we invited our lovely mums, grandmas and carers into the setting for a Mother’s Day tea party. We had lots of lovely activities out which included planting sunflowers with Charlie, icing biscuits with Clare and Maddie and lots of toys to enjoy with the children’s grown up. Towards the end of the session we all enjoyed some lovely cakes and squash with a story.

New Panda Class teachers

Dear all,

After interviewing last week we would like to welcome to the team Mrs Emma Billington and Mrs Laura Conde, who will be our new Panda class teachers from January, until Mrs McGrath comes back. Mrs Conde will teach Mondays and Tuesdays and Mrs Billington will teach Wednesdays, Thursday, Fridays. Both ladies are very experienced EYFS teachers and will liaising with Mrs Mayle to ensure a smooth handover. They will be spending Wednesday afternoon with the class to get to know them as well. If you’re collecting tomorrow after school, come and say hello if you can!

World Book Day 2024

World book day was lots of fun, we had three Peter rabbits, a Chick and the Gruffalo came to play. We made Snow Leopards paper plates and learnt lots of interesting facts about where they live and what they like to eat.
