Friday 17th November – Children in Need 2023

Children in Need 2023 is fast approaching and Myddle School will be going “Spotty” this year!

Your child can come to school dressed head to toe in spots on Friday 17th November, with all money raised on this day going to this amazing charity.

Our only plea is that they wear their trainers so they can take part in their PE Sessions.

Monday 13th November – Odd Socks Day!

Odd Socks Day on Monday, 13th November marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week at Myddle School 🙂

Come to school in odd socks, jazzy ones, plain ones BUT most importantly they must be ODD.

Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!

Remembrance Purchases

On our return to school on the Tuesday 7th November, we will be selling merchandise from the Royal British Legion. We do this every year to support this fantastic charity.

Our Armed Forces risk everything to protect our way of life. Your poppy purchases show you care and helps them continue their vital work.

Prices will be:

Poppy’s – minimum donation 20p
Reflective Poppy’s- 50p
Zip Pull – 50p
Snap band Rulers – £1
Wristbands – £1
Please send the correct money and the item/s your child would like, in a named envelope.

Mrs Smith will distribute the items at the end of the school day.

Lost Property

Mrs Smith will put all lost property outside at the end of the day today for parents/carers to have a rummage through and attempt to reunite clothing to child.

Please ensure that your child’s name is sewn, written or any other method to their uniform so we can easily avoid the mountain of lost property we have at the end of this term. This also includes any uniform which is pre-loved or “hand- me- downs”.

Your support with this will play a massive part in reducing our lost property, and avoiding additional expense to parents when things go missing.

Y5&6 Netball competition

Well done to the children who represented the school in a Y5&6 netball event last week at Corbet School. Both teams reached the semi-finals having qualified through from the group stages. A great effort! Thank you to coach Neil and Mr Harris for taking the children.

Y5&6 Tag rugby competition

Well done to the 15 children in Y5&6 who represented the school in a tag rugby competition at Corbet School this morning. After both of our teams reached the semi-finals due to earlier victories in the group stages, they narrowly missed out on making the final with 5-4 and 4-3 defeats to Baschurch A and Baschurch B teams. A superb effort from everybody! Thanks to coach Neil and Mrs Emerton Maka for taking the children to this event.

Y5&6 Football match vs Baschurch

A great performance from our Y5&6 football squad today who were selected to play in a 9 a-side game against Baschurch Primary. After going 1-0 down, they fought back confidently with goals from Dexter, Fin and Ben to earn a well-deserved 3-1 victory. Well done everybody and thank you to those who came along to support the team.
