Wiffy Wilson’s Healthy Week

We have had a lovely time learning how to keep clean and healthy with the help of Wiffy Wilson the little wolf who wouldn’t wash!

Thank you very much for your donations of soap and toothbrushes for our display.

Keeping Healthy

This week we are reading a book called Wiffy Wilson, all about a little wolf who doesn’t know why he needs to keep clean.  In our classroom we have some fun activities to help us learn about keeping clean.

Gloop to practise writing letters in.

Rolling the dice and making the right number of teeth for the mouth.

Cutting along the lines to help with scissor control.

Washing the babies and their clothes.

Our keeping healthy and clean display.

RE

As part of our RE lessons we have been learning about Hinduism.  This week we are having an ‘Indian’ week.  We have spice painting, seeds in the play-dough, story telling, dressing up and later in the week we will try some Indian food.

Geography Display

Thank you for all your lovely holiday pictures the display is looking great.  Keep them coming.

Our first week

We have settled in so well for our first week.  The children have been super stars and very confident.  We have done so well we were the winners of Scruffy the ‘BARK’ dog!

B = Behaviour

A = Attitude

R = Respect

K = Kindness

Keep your BARK bones safe.  When you have collected 5 give them to Mrs Goddard and she will make sure you get a certificate in Celebration Assembly.

Area of the classroom

We are beginning to build different areas within the classroom with the children’s help, learning how to use the areas safely and sensibly as we go.  We would like some help to fill the map display with lots of lovely pictures of journeys the children have been on. If you send in a photo we will put it up on the display.

The visual timetable and maths working wall.

VIP seat and weather display.

The reading corner.

The reflection area.

Our last forest school this term

It has been a beautiful day to cook marshmallows under the trees.  We found a frog and watered the plants, picked some raspberries and cooked in the mud kitchen.

KS1 Football match

What an enjoyable KS1 football match we had after school today against Sundorne Infants School. In lovely conditions, both sets of teams demonstrated great fair play and team spirit. It was a close game throughout until the last 5 minutes when Sundorne’s previous experiences shone through. Our children battled really hard and showed a great defensive, resilient display. The full time score was Myddle 0-4 Sundorne. Well done to all of our brave Y1&2 team in the first game. Hopefully it will be the first of many!

Y1&2 Football match

Quick reminder for the nine children who are representing the school in the Y1&2 mixed football match after school tomorrow against Sundorne Infants. Make sure that you bring your trainers, shorts, and long socks / shin pads (if you have them). The game will kick off at approximately 3:45pm and be finished at 4:15pm. Good luck everyone!
