Dear Parent / Guardian

We have been advised of the following road works to be carried out from Tuesday 2nd May – Thursday 25th May:

The work on A528 from Harmer Hill to Burlton will take place between Tuesday 2 May and Thursday 25 May and we will be working between 9 30am and 4pm on weekdays and between 8am and 5pm on Saturdays.

Stud removal – Tuesday 2 May to Thursday 4 May

Surface dressing – Thursday 11 May to Saturday 13 May

White lining – Monday 22 May to Tuesday 23 May (road closure)

Wednesday 24 May to Thursday 25 May (Stop/Go boards)

Please note that all our planned roadworks are subject to change due to weather conditions or unexpected circumstances. Any changes will be displayed on the yellow advanced warning signs and www.one.network

Before the works start, we will erect advance warning signs in the local area, letting you know of any changes to the start date and marking the extent of the works.

Road Restrictions during the work

To protect our workforce and the public:

· The road will be closed to through traffic and a signed diversion route will be in place

· Access to properties and businesses within the closure will be maintained, although at times may be restricted

For further information please visit our website: Shropshire.gov.uk/surfacedressing or liaise with the onsite team, as they might be able to answer your query quickly.

Summer Term After School Clubs

We are looking to make a change to the club letters. This will take effect from Summer Term (17th April onwards).

We will issue a letter as normal but it will not include a reply slip

To guarantee your child’s place on any of the clubs they want to do, payment via gateway will be the only way to secure a place.

The reasoning behind this change, is we spending a significant amount of time chasing outstanding payments and slips.

We appreciate that previously we have asked for you to state whether your child is being collected, going to little angels or walking home on the reply slip. To ensure the safeguarding of your child at the end of club session, please either email admin@myddle.shropshire.sch.uk or ring us on 01939 290834. We will then mark the club register with this information and inform the club leader.

Secondary National Offer Day

As you’ll be aware, Secondary National Offer day is this Wednesday, 1 March 2023.

Today, could you please check if you can access your account on the Parent Portal.  If, for whatever reason you cannot access your account or you are locked out, please email school-admissions@shropshire.gov.uk or phone (01743) 255216 as soon as possible.  A colleague in the Admissions Team will look into this and re-set/unlock accounts accordingly.

We also attach a briefing note, which is also available on our website regarding the secondary transfer group this year.
