Parent Forum – Friday 8th November 3:30pm

Dear Parent/Carers

As a leadership team, we would like to acknowledge that we understand that there were concerns and disappointments in the way things were handled regarding the potential closure of Sunrise club. We were very fortunate that Claire Evans came forward to help us, but realise that many of you may have had suggestions that you could have put forward beforehand to try and prevent it happening in the first place.  We have reflected on this and wanted to give you an opportunity to talk to us about any other school issues, both strengths and areas for improvement, that we can work on together to help the school move forward.

To this end, we would like to invite you to come into school for a Parent Forum on Friday 8th November 3:30-5:00pm.

The forum will be hosted by the school governors, who will be there to answer questions, collect ideas and suggestions from our school community.  We are very lucky to have such supportive parents and carers who want to help the school to develop along with the staff.  The PTA are very proactive in setting up initiatives but we want to extend this to the wider school community through this forum.

We hope that you will be able to make it. If you are unable to attend but wish to raise a point or ask a question, please put it in an envelope marked ‘parent forum’ and hand in to the school office.

This date and time has been chosen as we wanted to hold the forum as soon as possible. We will take feedback on timings and preferences for next time as we will hold another forum later in the year.

Thank you for your on-going support,

Yours faithfully

Mrs Williams, Executive Headteacher

Cross Country 16th October

Dear Parent/Carer

The Cross Country event tonight is open to Yr 3 – 6, please accept my apologises as the initial information was only passed to Yr 5-6.

If your child would like to take part, I have attached the letters with all the details of the event and guidance on arrival time and parking from the Corbet.

There are going to be 4 separate cross country events over the next few weeks, Race 2- 6th Nov, Race 3 -13th Nov and Race 4 -20th Nov, so if your child is unable to attend this race they will get the opportunity to take part next time.

If you have any further questions please ring me 01939 290834

Year 6 Secondary School Transfers – DEADLINE 31st October

Dear Parent/Carers

We have been asked to remind Year 6 parents that the ALL primary to secondary applications need to be completed by 31st October 2019.

Please note below the information received regarding late applications and the application deadline.

Please be aware that all primary to secondary transfer applications received after 31 October 2019 will be treated as late and will only be considered after all on-time applications have been processed (at which point the preferred school may be full).  There will be no period of grace for paper applications to be submitted.  The only exception to this is for parents who can evidence that they have moved house between 31 October 2019 and 3 February 2020. Please also note that the national closing date falls in the half-term holiday when schools will be closed and if parents leave it until the last moment, there may be no one available to assist them with their application.

Polite Reminder

Please can the reply slips and payments for the upcoming Flaxmill & Liverpool trips be sent to school ASAP.

Many Thanks

Mrs Smith

Headlice

It has come to our attention that we may have some unwelcome visitors in school. Please can we ask that long hair is placed in a ponytail. We would be grateful for your support in eradicating the lice. For more information, please follow the link: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/head-lice/Pages/introduction.aspx
