Telling the time

This week we’ve been busy learning to tell the time using an analogue clock. We’ve practised o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. Lots of the children have moved on to telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes and even saying what the time will be in 20 minutes, 25 minutes etc πŸ˜ƒβ°βŒšοΈ

Types of transport in forest school

Last week we started our new topic all about travel and transport. We discussed the different types of transport that the children knew and which types of transport we use in different situations. The children then designed some different modes of transport using natural materials in forest school πŸ™‚πŸš—πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™€οΈβœˆοΈπŸš’πŸšΆπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸšπŸš€

Flooding

In our geography work we have been busy learning all about different types of weather and the dangers that may come with them. We have spoken about heatwaves and droughts and the effects these can cause. We then learned about flooding, researching our local River Severn and discussing the effects on people and our environment that floods can have. We used a professional rain gauge to learn how scientists measure rainfall to predict flooding.

Lambs!

We’ve all had such a wonderful afternoon playing with, feeding and cuddling lambs! Anya’s daddy very kindly brought two of their lambs in to visit us and told us all about how they care for the sheep, lambs and particularly the orphaned lambs on their farm. The children were able to have a go at bottle feeding the lambs and gave them lots of cuddles. Afterwards, we spoke about the importance of handwashing after touching animals. We are so lucky to have this opportunity and it’s lovely to find out more about our local community.

πŸ’¨πŸŒ©οΈ Weather forecasters! β˜€οΈπŸŒ§οΈ

Tigers have been busy being weather forecasters! We researched what a weather forecast tells us, what type of weather you might get in the UK and watched some examples of people presenting the weather. We then worked with a partner to plan and then present our own weather forecasts! β˜€οΈπŸŒ§οΈπŸ’¨πŸŒ©οΈ
