Tiger Class Homework – Spring Term

As we get the children used to new routines and expectations, all the homework required for Tigers this half-term is that the children read with an adult and practise their spellings and number skills (number bonds, times tables, etc) regularly. Homework books will be updated every Thursday.

If you have any queries regarding your child’s homework, please do not hesitate to contact me.

New teacher & parents meetings

Dear Tiger parents and carers,

As I will be taking over the Tiger Class as their main teacher from the first week of January, we thought it would be a good idea to offer you the chance for us to have a short meeting, in case there’s anything you would like to discuss as soon as possible in the new term. I have had a thorough handover meeting with Mrs Wenlock this week and there will be the usual whole-school Parent Evenings in mid-February, but if there’s anything you would like to discuss with me sooner (or even just to introduce yourselves and say hello), please make an appointment at the School office as soon as possible.

Appointments will be available on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th January, between 3.10pm and 5.30pm, and can be booked from tomorrow (Thursday 19th December).

If you would like to have a short meeting, but cannot make an appointment on those dates, please leave a message with Mrs Smith, at the School office with your preferred dates and times and we will do our best to accommodate.

Looking forward to meeting you all,

Mrs Crowe

Costume’s Christmas Performance

Please can we ask that ALL costumes are brought into school Tuesday morning ready for the full dress rehearsal.

If you have any problems sourcing an outfit please speak to Mrs McGrath/Mrs Wenlock as soon as possible

Weston Park

We all had a fantastic day today at Weston Park! Due to the bad weather this morning our activities changed slightly. However, we enjoyed all the activities and had great fun. In the morning, we enjoyed dressing up in Victorian clothes and playing with Victorian toys! We then got to make our own toy to take home. In the afternoon, we went out on a nature walk through the beautiful gardens, collecting different things such as; pine cones, flowers, leaves and bark. We also played eye-spy looking for bugs and we had a go at some bark rubbing on the huge trees.

Planting Sunflower Seeds

This afternoon, we have had great fun planting sunflower seeds!

Over the next few weeks, we are going to carry out an experiment to see what our sunflower seeds need to grow. We have put some of our pots in a dark place with no water, some in the sunlight but with no water and the rest in the sunlight with water. We have made our predictions of which sunflower we think will grow the most.
