Tiger Class – Book of the Month – January 2020

Every month, I will try to recommend a book to share with the Tigers. Sometimes, it will link to our Topic work or another subject and sometimes is just a great book to enjoy – reading for pleasure is just as important!

This month, the chosen book is “Charles’ Darwin On the Origin of Species”, by Sabina Radeva.

This is a beautifully illustrated introduction to Charles Darwin’s ideas. We currently have a couple of copies of this in our class, so the children have been able to explore it a bit already.

Tiger Class – Junk Masks

Tiger Class will be making Junk Masks next week with Mrs Harris.

If you have anything you think would be appropriate for this i:e toilet rolls, egg boxes etc please send them into school for this activity

Tigers Homework – Spring Term – Week 3

All children: Spellings (to be tested on Thursday 30th January)

Year 1: Maths worksheet on numbers to 20.

Year 2: Some children (not all) have a worksheet to consolidate the work we have done this week in class. They also need to practice either the 10x table or 5x table, depending on the results of today’s test. The relevant work is in their Homework and Times Tables books.

Charles Darwin-themed local events

Luckily for us, there are plenty of activities happening in Shrewsbury in the next few weeks around Charles Darwin’s life and work.

I will try to post as many ideas in our website as possible, and I am sure the children would really enjoy taking part in these as this is proving a very popular topic in Tiger Class.
