Our School’s Christian Values – Truthfulness

Our School’s Christian Values – Truthfulness

Dear Parents/Carers,

At Myddle, our Christian values guide and inspire us each day. This half term, we are focusing on the value of Truthfulness — being honest in our words and actions, acting with integrity, and building trust in our relationships with others.

Through our worship, lessons and daily interactions, we will encourage children to reflect on truthfulness by:

– Learning from the example of Jesus, who taught the importance of truth, honesty and living with integrity.
– Exploring why telling the truth matters, even when it is difficult, and how honesty helps build trust and strong relationships.
– Encouraging children to be truthful in their choices, take responsibility for their actions, and speak with kindness and respect.

We invite you to join us in exploring this value at home by talking about the importance of honesty and trust in everyday life. This could include discussing how it feels when people are truthful, how to make things right after a mistake, and how being honest helps us grow. Please see the link for ideas on how you can explore this value together as a family.

Being thankful

We have been discussing in class the importance of being thankful for what we have in life and understanding that not everyone is as fortunate as us. At Christmas time in particular it is important to realise how lucky we are and remember to be grateful for the important things in life and that Christmas isn’t just about gifts. Tiger Class have been fantastic in our discussions and gave some really deep, heart-felt views on what is significant in life and shared how other children’s lives might be very different to ours. We have made our Christmas tree a ‘tree of thankfulness’ and the children wrote their own thankful notes to hang on it. 🎄

Shropshire Fire and Rescue visit

Tiger class were excited this week to be visited by the Shropshire Fire and Rescue team who spoke to the children about fire safety. They explained the different kinds of jobs the fire brigade attend such as fires, road traffic accidents and rescuing people or sometimes animals that are stuck. We talked about what to do if we spot a fire or are trapped in a fire. The children all listened so well and we had some great discussions in class.

Children in Need

Tiger class had a lovely day raising money for Children in Need. Everyone looked great in their Pudsey gear/own clothes! Emily very kindly brought Pudsey cupcakes in for everyone which were delicious! We then joined the rest of the school to complete our cha-cha challenge! Well done to everyone for raising lots of money for a fantastic cause.
