Mummification!

This week in our history topic we focused on the ancient Egyptian process of mummification. The class had so much fun turning each other into mummies! We then learnt the multiple steps involved in preparing the body, including removing the brain and other organs, ready to be placed in the tomb!

Pushes and pulls

We’ve had a fantastic first full week back! The children have returned with great, positive attitudes.

In our science work we have started looking at different contact forces. In groups, children sorted push and pull forces into a Venn diagram, working collaboratively and discussing the results. We have also enjoyed some active maths and started our topic work on ancient Egypt. In our literacy, we have practised writing expanded noun phrases, using adverbs and punctuating speech.

Well done for all of your hard work this week Tigers!

Reading, reading, reading!๐Ÿ“š

We always try to promote reading for pleasure and show the children in class how wonderful books can be. Recently, children have really taken this onboard and are enjoying their reading so much which is lovely to see! Many of the children come in to school in the morning desperate to tell us what has happened in their book and they’ve even started asking if they can read their books during break time! Being able to read for pleasure is a great skill to have and opens up so many new worlds and possibilities! ๐Ÿ“š
