Nut Free School

We would like to remind parents/carers that we are a nut free school.
In the interests of protecting pupils and staff with nut allergies, we request that you do not send your children to school with any of the following:
  • Packaged nuts
  • Peanut butter or chocolate spreads containing nuts
  • Cereal, granola or chocolate bars containing nuts
  • Cake or biscuits containing nuts
  • Peanut-based sauces like satay
  • Any food made with sesame seeds (which can cause a similar allergic reaction)

The above list is not exhaustive. Please check the ingredient lists carefully.

Both children and adults with severe nut allergies can suffer from life-threatening reactions if they eat, smell, or touch any foods containing nuts. We are therefore grateful for your cooperation in helping to keep our pupils and staff safe.

Young Voices 2026 Reminder

There are still a large number of parents who have not bought their child a Young Voices t-shirt or ordered any audience tickets for Young Voices on 13th January 2026.

The deadline for parents to do this is 23rd October 2025. It is not possible to order after this date. Please see the letter that was sent home with your child with the link to order.

Y6 Science

As part of their Science topic of ‘light’, the Y6s have been investigating how the position of the sun affects the length of our shadows this afternoon.

Y6 T1 Rugby Experience Day

A selected group of children in Y6 enjoyed a T1 Rugby experience day today in Oswestry, where they learned the rules of this new format and then applied/practised them in game situations.

Secondary Application deadline – 31 October 2025

The closing date for secondary applications is 31 October 2025 which falls in the half-term holidays. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible but before the deadline date. This will ensure that if you encounter any problems, you can be supported/helped and to submit your application on time. There is no grace period for late applications. Head Lice Case

We would like to inform you that a case of head lice has been reported in the school. While this is a common occurrence in school settings, we encourage all parents and cares to be vigilant and to check their child’s hair and scalp regularly for any signs of lice or eggs.
If you do find signs of head lice, we kindly ask that you begin treatment immediately and inform the school, so we can continue to monitor and manage the situation effectively and discreetly.
To help prevent the spread, we also recommend:
  • Avoiding the sharing of hats, hairbrushes, and other personal items.
  • Tying back long hair where possible.
  • Regular checks at home, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck.

Harvest Festival Reminder

We are looking forward to our Harvest Festival tomorrow, Tuesday 7th October at 9:30am, at the church. We warmly invite you to join us if you’re able.

As part of our harvest celebration, we’re collecting donations to support families in need. If you can, please consider bringing non-perishable food items such as tins, packets, cereal, pasta, or toiletries. Your generosity will make a real difference.

Young Voices 2026 t-shirt and adult audience ticket information

Children who have signed up for Young Voices 2026 will be bringing a letter home with them today.

The letter will explain how to use the ‘YV music room’ – where parents are able to order t-shirts and adult audience tickets directly from the music room shop. In previous years the school have ordered the t-shirts and adult tickets however this year it will all be accessible for parents to do.
