KS2 Mini Athletics

This morning, a group of 16 pupils from Y3,4,5 and 6 were selected to represent Myddle Primary in a mini athletics event at Corbet School. The pupils took part in some running, throwing and jumping events on the school field. For many of the pupils, it was their first / one of their first opportunities to represent their school in a sports event and they all did really well. Well done in particular to Iyla Tucker who finished 1st in the long jump. We hope all of the children enjoyed it and it has encouraged them to want to be selected on more occasions to represent their school in sport.

Thank you to Mrs Owen and Mrs Emerton Maka for taking and supporting the children at this event.

Please Name Your Child’s Uniform!

We’ve had an overwhelming number of lost uniform items recently — lots of the items are unnamed. This makes it very difficult (and often impossible) for us to return them to the correct student.

As you can see from the photo below, our lost property collection is growing rapidly!

To help us reunite lost items with their owners, please ensure that all of your child’s uniform — including jumpers, coats, PE kit, and lunchboxes — is clearly labelled with their full name.

This small step makes a big difference and saves time for staff, parents, and children alike.

Thank you for your support!

Free Secondary School Transport Application Information

We would like to remind all parents of year 6 pupils that the deadline for applying for free school transport to your child’s allocated secondary school needs to be submitted by 31st May 2025.  If the application is not submitted by this date, the Authority may be unable to provide transport provision from the beginning of the Autumn Term and parents/carers will need to make their own transport arrangements.

For insurance purposes, and to ensure accurate loadings on all our school contracted vehicles, access to school transport is not permitted until entitlement has been confirmed, and any application submitted after this date cannot be guaranteed that their application will be assessed in time.  Parents/carers can apply online at Secondary | Shropshire Council  Alternatively, applications can be submitted by telephoning our Customer Services Team on 0345 678 9008.

Your co-operation with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
