Information from The Corbet School

Corbet School have asked us to remind parents of the year 6 pupils attending the new intake days on Monday and Tuesday to remind them to bring inhalers if required.

If your child needs any medication during the school day you will need to deliver this to Reception and sign an administering medication form. The usual rules about administering medication apply i.e. prescription details clearly visible on the original packaging and medication in date and in original packaging.  Thank you.

SUMMER HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) PROGRAMME 2025

The Summer 2025 HAF Programme is now open for bookings.

There are free places available on the programme for children and young people aged 4 (reception class age) to 16, who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals and for those who have been referred onto HAF by school.

During the holidays from Monday 21st July, children and young people are invited to take part in a range of fun activities happening at over 58 venues from across the county.

If your child is eligible, they will have been sent home from school with a a printed copy of the HAF Information Leaflet.  Our school code is printed inside this leaflet.

News from the parenting team

The Parenting Team will be delivering free Understanding Your Child and Understanding Your Child SEND – from toddler to teens – groups from September/October 2025 (poster attached).

These 10 week groups aim to:

•             Promote understanding of children’s behaviour within the context of developmental issues

•             Promote the development of parent/child relationship

•             Increase confidence and self-esteem in both parents and children

•             Give parents a strategy for repair when things go wrong

•             Promote reflective, sensitive and effective parenting

We are also offering free SLEEP TIGHT groups from September 2025 (poster attached).

These 5 week workshops cover:

•             Recognising the role of sleep hygiene to improve sleep

•             Identifying causes of sleep issues and appropriate practical strategies to try

•             Completing sleep diaries and identifying potential sleep issues

 Tempest offer a free “deliver to school” option that is open for approximately 14 days, alternatively, home delivery is available at a cost of £5 postage and packing.
