Frog Club

We have now introduced our class maths programme called Frog Club in Rhino class.  This is an initiative that encourages children to have faster recall of number facts. The programme starts with the 10 club and goes through to 99 club and then onto Superstars Division and Superstars Fractions.

By learning these number facts, we really hope that this programme will help your child carry out calculations more easily as they learn to use and apply their knowledge.

Each week, on a Friday, the children will have 5 minutes to complete the test for the club they have been assigned. In order to move on to the next club, they must answer all questions correctly in the time.

Below is a list of all the clubs and the content covered in each.

You can help your child at home by practising fast recall of the number facts in each club.  Click on the link to access each test.

Super Science

This week in science, Rhino class set up an experiment to find out the impact the environment has on germination. They used a range of resources to plan and make sure the test would be fair. All children worked well in their groups where teamwork and cooperation was essential. We look forward to sharing our results next week.

Road Safety in Rhino Class

Rhino class had the pleasure of spending the morning with a lovely gentleman called Ray Hughes, who taught the children all about road safety.

The children learnt so much and we even walked around the village to put into practise what they had learnt. The children were so sensible and a real credit to the school.

Rhino Superheroes

We had a great day in Rhino class today.

The children looked amazing in their costumes and we held a fantastic discussion in class about all the different attributes that were their super powers. The children then drew their superheroes and labelled these characteristics.

Thank you for all your help with the costumes and for your donations to a good cause.

Uniform – Girls cardigan

Please can cardigans be checked to ensure your child is wearing their own.

We would also be grateful if all uniform could be named to avoid any items accidentally being mixed up.

Mrs Smith

Thank You

To all Parents and Careers,

From all of us at Myddle, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the support you have given us in helping to teach your children over the past 8 weeks. We know it hasn’t been easy, with many of you juggling work and caring for siblings while managing home schooling tasks.

We can’t begin to tell you how rewarding it has been to be regularly receiving feedback and photos of the children’s work. We know how hard this has been to keep on top of and we really have appreciated it.

We are all so excited to welcome your children back to school on Monday where we can take back the reins and give you all a very well deserved break.

We hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Many thanks

Mr Glover

Returning to Rhino Class on March 8th

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to start by saying how excited I am about seeing you all on March 8th where we can once again be together as a Rhino family in class.

I know many of you may have some questions about school and will be wondering if anything will be different this time when you return. Actually, we have not had to make too many changes and therefore school routines will be pretty much the same as they were during the Autumn term when you were last at school.

Even though this is the case, I have put an information page together for you and your parents to have a look through to remind you of those routines and some of the minor changes that we have made at school.

Rhino Return Information Page

I really hope you are all looking forward to coming back as I know being away from school and working at home has been a real challenge. I just wanted to say how well you have all done and that I have been so proud of you all. It has been extremely rewarding to see you engaging in tasks and sending me in your work. You really should be tremendously proud of yourselves. I also want to say a huge thank you to all of your parents as they have been amazing and so supportive.

I would appreciate it, if you could take some time to complete the reflection sheet below about your lockdown experience, positives and negatives, and bring this back to school with you during the first week back. This will allow us have a class discussion about our experiences and our feelings. Remember, it’s good to talk!

Can’t wait to see you all,

Kind Regards

Mr Glover
