Gardening Club Update

On Saturday, 12th November something wonderful happened!

The PTA and several parents & children helped to create 3 brand new raised beds, new borders, planted with Spring bulbs AND had a good tidy up in Forest School and around the play ground.

The gardening club have been active since winning first place, for the children’s entry of the Shrewsbury Flower Show.  The new raised beds will be used by the children to enhance their learning and will be an essential resource to further develop the schools gardening club.

Non of this would be possible if it were not for the PTA, parents of school and nursery and children all volunteering and, giving not only their time but some wonderful donations too – lots of timber and compost for the raised beds and some seeds .

A huge thank you to everyone concerned!

Myddle CE Primary School Ofsted Report November 2022

To all our families,

We are very pleased to have received our final Ofsted report following our recent inspection on November 18th.

We hope you agree that it really reflects the wonderful staff and children at Myddle. The inspectors were impressed with how we prioritise the whole child, through all of our music, art, trips, clubs and opportunities, alongside really robust teaching of the core subjects. As well as a Deep Dive into maths and reading, Ofsted also conducted a Deep Dive into how we teach MFL (Spanish) and were extremely impressed with the teaching and learning, the curriculum and progression. They praised the behaviour and attitudes of the children and the subject knowledge and dedication of all staff.

We are delighted with the report and our result;  it is a culmination of all the hard work over the last few years in order to meet the ever-changing expectations of the government, as well as keeping true to our own ethos. On the day, the inspectors saw what we do, day in, day out and to be judged as ‘good’ is something we are all very proud of.

Thank you for your on-going support for the school – we receognise that this success is a partnership between school, home, governors and the community.

School & PTA volunteering morning!!

We are holding a volunteering morning in school, where we can look at creating a gardening area on the field. The plan is for it to take place on Saturday, 12th November, 10am until 12pm. If we are able and have a few volunteers, we could also perhaps have a pruning session and a tidy up??

If you have any gardening equipment, trowels, small forks etc, or compost at home that you no longer need, these would be a great help to get this area up and running.

Mrs Turner will be leading this adventure so please pop and have a chat with her if you have any questions.

Thank you in advance.
