King Charles’ coronation

This week, we have focused on this historical event, culminating with a whole day of activities about the coronation of King Charles III.

Tiger Class has created another one of our collaborative collages to celebrate the occasion, which is now displayed in our classroom.

Coronation Week

It’s Coronation week! So, for the next few days, we will be learning a bit more about the new King and this historical moment.

Happy Easter, Tiger Class!

Happy Easter, Tiger Class!

As usual, there’s no set homework for the holidays. Just enjoy your break, read your favourite books, eat plenty of chocolate and come back ready for a brilliant Summer Term.

Fire Service visit

On Friday, all pupils in years 3 and 4 participated in a fire safety education session, with representatives from the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

They have learnt how to spot a fire and escape safely if there is a fire in the home, and also what to do if they could not escape.

As part of the visit, the children were encouraged to follow-up with some tasks at home. All details can be found in the letter handed out to the children today.

World Book Day 2023

One of the highlights of our School calendar. We are having the best time celebrating our favorite books today!

Trip to Shrewsbury – link to our History topic

Since we are learning about Charles Darwin in History, we went on a trip to Shrewsbury Museum and to the Shrewsbury Library (where Darwin’s old boarding school used to be).

We had a workshop about Darwin, where we created a timeline and found and classified fossils, rocks and bugs. It was a fantastic day and we have all learned a lot!

Tiger Class – Computing lesson

This afternoon, we had a joined (Years 2 and 3) Computing Class and it was a resounding success. We are learning about Online Safety, the importance of keeping login details secret and logging out when we finish using our laptops.

Tiger Class – Independent writing

Last week, Tiger Class worked hard on their first independent writing task of this new school year. All classes used the same short film as our inspiration and we will use this piece of work to measure the children’s progress during the year.
