Children in Need

A big thank you for all the teddy and book donations today. The non-uniform donations, loose change collection and  teddy / book sales made a total of over £200, which beat our 2017 amount of £196. The school council children should be really proud of themselves as they came up with all of the ideas and helped enormously during the day!

RAF Cosford

A very enjoyable and educational trip to RAF Cosford was had by all today. Here are some of the images of the day, involving Jaguar class.

Cross Country Event 3

Thank you to the parents who transported the children to the 3rd Cross Country event after school today at the Corbet School. Yet again we had a great turn out, with 22 pupils braving the cold, damp conditions to perform to the best of their ability. Charlie (Y6) continued his high standards with another 1st place position, whilst Dylan (Y3) produced another excellent run in 2nd place.Other top 6 positions this week included Zoe (Y4) in 5th place and Rhys (Y4) in 3rd place. However, a big well done to all of the other children who have attended all three events so far and shown great dedication and bravery throughout.

The final event will take place next Tuesday.

Cross Country

Congratulations to all of the children who represented the school in the 2nd cross country event on Tuesday after school. Yet again, we had a great turn out and had some superb running results.

In particular, well done to these children who finished in the top 6 runners in their individual races this week.

Charlie (Y6 boys) 1st, Rhys (Y4 boys) 3rd, Dylan (Y3 boys) 4th, Toby (Y5 boys) 5th and Zoe (Y4 girls) 5th

The 3rd cross country will take place next Tuesday.

27.11.18 Indoor Athletics event

Y5&6 Timetable

As the ‘Reading The Game’ (English/Football) programme has now finished, PE for children in Y5&6 will now take place on a Wednesday afternoon. For this half term, the children shall be learning and developing their dance skills with Miss Lydia Davies. The second PE session of the week (Johnny Hughes Coaching) will still take place on a Friday afternoon.

Forest School (fingers crossed) will be taking place on Tuesday mornings this half term, starting on the first Tuesday back (6th November). As the children shall be starting their session at 9:10am, it would be easier for the children to arrive at school in the morning wearing their forest school clothing already. They will need to get changed into their school uniforms when their session has ended.

Thanks

Mr Hughes

Football

An entertaining evening of football took place again with Y3&4 mixed and Y5&6 boys football matches at Ruyton School, where Myddle once again took on St John’s and Baschurch in some exciting games.

In the Y3&4 games, there was some great tackling and determination on show, with all 6 members of the team enjoying their first game of the year. After a 2-1 defeat in the first game, we followed that up with another closely fought second match, narrowly losing out 4-3 to Baschurch, with all of our goals coming from Alfie.

The Y5&6 team dominated the first game, but unfortunately lost out 1-0 to Bachurch, but they came out on top 1-0 in the second game against Ruyton, with a penalty from Charlie being the difference between the two teams.

Well done to all of the children who represented their school this evening.

Sophie, Sophie, Alfie, Cass, Alex, Esme, Reuben, Harry, Toby, Henry, Rhys, Jacob, Charlie and Alfie.

Hi 5 Netball

Seven children represented Myddle CE Primary School in a High 5 Netball at the Corbet Secondary School, against 7 other teams. After a comfortable 1-0 win in the opening match against Kinnerley, mistakes were costly in the second game, with Ruyton running out comfortable 4-0 victors. In the third game, the children avoided those earlier mistakes and put in a much improved performance, losing out narrowly 3-2 against Baschurch, despite being in the lead for long periods. The final game saw a 3-3 draw against Nesscliffe, which meant that overall, we finished in 5th place.

Well done to:

Georgia, Maddie, Reuben, Charlie, Oliver, Lily and Megan

Sportsability

Well done to the 10 children (Maisie, Ariana, Izzy, Dylan, Ollie, Blake, Elizabeth, Malachai, Bethany and Lily T), who were chosen to represent Myddle CE Primary School in the Sportsability taster event at Sundorne Sports Village this afternoon. It was great to see so many children represent their school for the first time, taking part in tri-golf, archery, new age kurling and boccia. As usual, you did yourselves and the school proud!
