Staffing News

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Rachel Smith as our new School Administrator and she will be starting with us at the end of this term.

We have also appointed Liz Leese as our new Forest School Leader.  Liz has already started with us and will be with us every Tuesday and Wednesday.  Liz is also Forest School Leader at Baschurch Primary School and Baschurch Pre-School.

We would like to inform parents that Forest School sessions will now be on a rota.  Although Jaguar Class will not have Forest School this half term, please be assured they will be taking part again next term.

We hope both Mrs Smith and Mrs Leese will be very happy here at Myddle Primary.

Myddle Multi-Terrain Fun Run

The Myddle Multi-Terrain Fun Run will be taking place on Sunday 24th March at 10.30am.  This is a huge fundraiser for the school, historically raising between £1000-£1500 and brings in around 200 runners competing in the 3 mile, 6 mile and 1 mile fun run.

In order to make it work, we need lots of volunteers (around 30) who will be involved in marshalling along the route, helping administrate the races (check in, time keeping etc) and route/general set up.  We usually start setting up the courses 2-3 days in advance.  We also have a very popular refreshments and cake stall so if you are able to make or donate something we would be most appreciative.

If you can spare any time to help in any capacity or would like to chat about how you can help please get in touch with the organiser, Cathy Cooke, on 07919 592782 or the school office.  Thank  you for your support.

Follies Trip

Dear all

We are all looking forward to the trip to Hawkstone Follies on Friday.  I thought it would be useful to just pop out a reminder of things you may need to consider.

Children need sensible and comfortable footwear.  It is a long walk on a natural surface and so in places could be slippy.  School shoes aren’t appropriate, wellies or trainers (old) with a good grip would be best.  I will be wearing old trainers.  Waterproof coats are a must in the  changeable weather we are having this week and layers would be good as they can remove a layer if we get warm.

We will stop for a drink and snack around 11am and lunch a bit later.  Please ensure your children have plenty to drink as it is thirsty work walking up the first steep hill.  Remember they don’t need anything else and will need to carry their own food so a backpack would be the best kind of bag to carry.

Children with a prescribed inhaler need to carry it with them at all times during the day.

We will be back  before the end of the school day for the usual 3pm collection.

Any questions please ask.

Mrs Wenlock

Comic Relief (Red Nose Day) – Friday 15th March

It is Comic Relief (Red Nose Day) on Friday 15th March. This year we would like children to come to school dressed as a Disney Character for a donation of £1.00.

We will also be holding a ‘Great Myddle Bake Off’ on this day.  Children should bring all cake entries into school on the morning of Friday 15th March.  All cakes will be judged, with a prize for the winner, and will then be sold at a cake sale at the end of the day.

Maths Day

On Monday 29 April (first day back after Easter Holidays) we will be having a Maths Day.  On this day children will be taking part in lots of fun maths challenges and activities.

We would also like children to come to school on this day dressed as a Rockstar, to link with Rockstar Maths! This could be something as simple as a pair of jeans and sunglasses or could be something more extravagant!  We look forward to seeing your outfits! (No charge)

World Book Day

Reminder that it is World Book Day tomorrow, Thursday 7th March. Please remember to come to school dressed as your favourite book character and bring a copy of the book your character is from!

Office Closed Today and Tomorrow

The school office will be closed today and tomorrow. If you need to speak to someone, please contact Baschurch Primary School, where you will be able to speak to Emily. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
