Rhinos have been busy!

Rhino class have had a very busy few weeks. I think everyone is really enjoying our new class text ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. The children have loved listening to the story being read to them and discussing the exciting events so far. The illustrations in the book we are reading have really helped bring the story to life. The story doesn’t follow a traditional story mountain pattern – it’s more like a rollercoaster of events!

We have started learning about power across the UK. We spent time researching power stations and the different types of power stations and explored how electricity in generated and distributed across our country. We used the internet to find locations of power stations and used a key to plot these places on a map.

With the festive season just around the corner, we have been working on designs for a festive gift bag as part of our Design and Technology unit of work. We have looked at the purpose of a design brief and success criteria. We have listed and planned for the equipment and tools we will need to make our bags. The next step is to experiment with sewing!

Mrs White, our Music teacher, has teaching Rhinos on a Thursday morning. They have been working hard to perfect their timing when playing their toots and recorders. It is lovely to listen to their progress and see themworking hard to focus and play together in a large group.
