U11s boys football

A great performance from the U11s boys football team who were narrowly defeated 2-1 against Prees after school today. Oliver produced his usual amazing performance in goal, Mylo and William were outstanding in defence, Oliver and Seb worked their socks off in midfield and Elvin was clinical in front of goal when the chance came. It was a pleasure to watch such a great team performance. Thanks to the parents/grandparents who came along to watch and support the team.

Easter Celebration Service – Saint Peter’s Church

We will be holding our Easter Celebration Service at St Peter’s church on Thursday 26th March at 9.30am.  Each class will be performing a song as part of the service.  Please do join us if you can, everyone is welcome.

Reminder – Non Uniform Day – Friday 13th March

Just a reminder that children are invited to come to school in non-uniform on Friday 13th March in exchange for a donation of a chocolate egg or a similar Easter treat.  We will be holding our second Easter Bingo event on Wednesday 25th March., straight after school. Last year we had a ‘full house’ and it would be wonderful to see the same again this year.

Red Nose Day – Friday 20th March 2026

Red Nose Day is back on Friday 20th March! We’ll be joining people across the nation to “take ourselves funny for money” and raise funds for this wonderful cause.

Children are invited to come to school wearing something that makes them smile – this could be comedy hair, a funny accessory, or a bright and cheerful outfit. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you like – the aim is just to have fun and share a laugh together.

This Red Nose Day, let’s giggle again while helping to change lives – putting food on plates, roofs over heads, and helping to keep little ones safe.

Changes for September 2026

It may seem early to start thinking about next academic year, but with it being the end of the financial year and having had the numbers for our new Reception intake, we want to share some planned changes to our school from September 2026.  Please see the attached letter.

Cross Country KS2

Well done to the pupils who took part in the cross-country event at Corbet School this morning. In cold conditions, they all did really well and performed to the best of their ability.
Special mentions go to Lily (7th) Hazel (4th) and Hugh (6th) in Y4, Isy (5th) and Beau (9th) in Y5, Owen (5th), Arabella (8th), Isla (9th) and Elvin (9th) in Y6 on their top 10 finishes.
Also, well done to Felix, who ran despite a foot injury a couple of days ago. 🏃‍♀️🏃

Reading the Game – Shrewsbury Town FC in the Community

A big thank you to Coach Neil Homer who provided the Y6s with their second ‘Reading the Game’ football session today. We also had a visitor as part of the lesson today – Amber (one of Shrewsbury Town’s mascots). Congratulations to Seb and Isla who were chosen as the stars of the week for their effort, attitude and focus throughout the afternoon.

U9s girls football

Well done to the girls who took part in a football match this afternoon on the school field against Grange Park, Telford. All of the girls wanted to play in a competitive football game aganst another school and they all enjoyed themselves, showing determination and work ethic on the pitch. Thank you to the staff and girls from Grange Park who drove over to play the game at our school. It was a pleasure to play against a group of delightful, well-mannered young girls.

Our Parents Evening Booking System will be going live this evening.
To book an appointment, you will need to visit the “Parents’ Area” on our school website and choose the appropriate class. You will then see a list of time slots, those coloured green are available to book any coloured red have already been taken. Once you have booked your appointment, you should receive a confirmation email.
