Toy cars wanted please

Do any of you have toy cars that your children have outgrown? We would be really grateful of any donations for sunset club please.

Sunset club and Panda class would also be interested in any good condition toys or construction such as blocks, marble runs, k’nex, vehicles, baby dolls, play food, dressing up or small world figures. If you’re having a clear out before Christmas, please bear us in mind!

Thank you very much.

Y5&6 Tag Rugby

Well done to the squad of eight children who represented Myddle CE Primary School in the Tag Rugby this morning. Overall, we finished in 4th place out of the 7 teams that entered, after competing well in all of the games. Most of the children scored tries but all of the children made excellent contributions in defence too. A solid start to a busy year of sport for the pupils at Myddle!

Reading The Game Y5&6

Dear Parents,

If your child is in Jaguar class (Y5&6) this academic year, please ensure that they have  their PE kits on Tuesdays and Fridays, starting on the first day back at school.

On Tuesday 4th September, they will be receiving the first of their 6 ‘Reading the Game’ sessions with Shrewsbury Town in the Community. The programme captures the motivational power of football and sport to inspire young people to read more and improve their English skills. It delivers the statutory requirements of the new national curriculum.

‘Reading The Game’ is a 6 week (12 hour) programme. Each session is split, ½ classroom based and 1/2 practical based. Classroom sessions are teacher led using STFC resources and supported by STFC coaches and volunteers. Practical sessions are led by sport teachers or AFPE qualified coaches.

Subject to availability the class will receive a player visit and a visit from Lenny the Lion-Shrewsbury Town’s official mascot. Each pupil will be given a Lenny log book, an opportunity to win free tickets to a Shrewsbury Town match and a completion certificate.

Thanks

Mr G Hughes
