Great News – We’re Now a Registered Charity!

We’re really pleased to share that the Friends of Myddle Primary School PTA has officially become a registered charity – Charity Number 1215649.

This means we can now make the most of grants, matched funding, and Gift Aid, helping us do even more for the children and our school.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us – from volunteering time and ideas to joining events and donating – you’ve all helped us reach this milestone.

This year for Children in Need, we will be taking on the Strictly Cha Cha Challenge throughout the week!

The challenge is inspired by BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and encourages schools across the country to get moving for a great cause. Each class will learn and perform a fun Cha Cha dance routine, building teamwork, confidence, and a lot of sparkle along the way! 💃🕺

On Friday 14th November, children are welcome to come to school in their own clothes or Pudsey-themed merchandise in return for a small donation to Children in Need.

Every penny raised helps Children in Need support thousands of children and young people across the UK. The charity funds local projects that:

• Provide safe spaces for children who are struggling.
• Offer mental health support and counselling.
• Help families facing poverty or difficult circumstances.
• Give children opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, and have fun.

The Parenting Team will be delivering free Understanding Your Child and Understanding Your Child SEND – from toddler to teens – groups from January 2026 (poster attached).

These 10 week groups aim to:

•             Promote understanding of children’s behaviour within the context of developmental issues

•             Promote the development of parent/child relationship

•             Increase confidence and self-esteem in both parents and children

•             Give parents a strategy for repair when things go wrong

•             Promote reflective, sensitive and effective parenting

We are also offering free SLEEP TIGHT  and Sleep Tight with SEND groups from January and February 2026 (poster attached).

These 5 week workshops cover:

•             Recognising the role of sleep hygiene to improve sleep

•             Identifying causes of sleep issues and appropriate practical strategies to try

•             Completing sleep diaries and identifying potential sleep issues
