Dinner Money Arrears

Please can we ask that all outstanding dinner money debt is cleared by Monday 23rd March and all dinners due to be taken next week are paid for in advance. We do always ask that dinner be paid for in advance but it is especially important next week as it is the end of term and the end of our financial year. Please support us in ensuring we do not have to carry debt forward to next year.

Many thanks to those of you who do regularly pay in advance and keep track, it is much appreciated. If you do ever lose track please feel free to email or call the office for an up to date balance.  Thank you.

Sleep Tight FIS

Sleep Tight

This 5 week workshop aims to support parents and parent carers to make positive changes to their child’s sleep patterns. Life can be difficult when children have sleep issues. Our aim is to support families to get a better night’s sleep by using a behavioural approach to sleep and work in partnership with families, as we know that they are the expert on their children. Workshops provide parents and carers with the opportunity to meet other families in similar situations and to gain tips on how to support a better night’s sleep for them and their child.

Quotes from parents who have been on the course

“Absolutely fabulous workshop. Should be offered to first time parents when their babies are old enough for the skills learned to be applied. I have a disabled daughter and naively thought that the workshop wouldn’t apply to her needs, well I was wrong, I believe it applies to most children and every parent can take massive positives away from this workshop! Awesome!”

“I have learnt a lot! I was interested to learn about the science behind sleep, melatonin production, sleepy foods. It has been good to know that I’m not alone and to learn things from some of the other Mum’s who were on the course. It was helpful to hear their suggestions!”

The next set of groups will be running in June 2026. You can find full details here.

To book a place please contact the Parenting Team on 01743 250950 or email Parenting.team@shropshire.gov.uk

  • Traffic light ratings clearly show if a food is high, medium or low in sugar, salt or fat.

It’s a great way to support healthier eating in everyday life!

Myddle Muddle update from our PTA

You may have spotted our signs popping up – the Myddle Muddle is back on Sunday 19th April.

There are 5K and 10K multi-terrain routes across hills, woodland and quiet lanes for anyone keen to take part.

The children’s 1 mile run is back too, but with a twist… it’s now a colour run! We’re really excited about it – white t-shirts definitely won’t stay white for long.

Funds raised this year will go towards improving the playground so it can be used all year round.

We can’t wait – it’s set to be a brilliant day. Come along and have a go – all abilities welcome.

Update on School Dinner Prices – Effective 13 April 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing to inform you of an unavoidable increase to the cost of school dinners from 13 April 2026.
Due to significant rises in the cost of energy, food supplies, and staffing, the current price of £2.50 per day has become unsustainable. From the start of the summer term, the price will increase to £2.70 per day, which is an overall rise of £1.00 per week.
Please note:
  • KS1 pupils will continue to receive free school meals under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
  • If your child qualifies for means‑tested Free School Meals (FSM), the school is also able to offer additional financial support in other areas, such as help with uniform, trips, and resources.
  • It is beneficial to apply for FSM even if your child already receives Universal Free School Meals, as eligibility unlocks this extra support for your family and additional funding for the school.
We understand that any increase is challenging for households, and we have kept prices as low as possible for as long as possible. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
If you have any questions or need help with the FSM application process, please contact the school office.

Easter Celebration Service – Saint Peter’s Church

We will be holding our Easter Celebration Service at St Peter’s church on Thursday 26th March at 9.30am.  Each class will be performing a song as part of the service.  Please do join us if you can, everyone is welcome.

Reminder – Non Uniform Day – Friday 13th March

Just a reminder that children are invited to come to school in non-uniform on Friday 13th March in exchange for a donation of a chocolate egg or a similar Easter treat.  We will be holding our second Easter Bingo event on Wednesday 25th March., straight after school. Last year we had a ‘full house’ and it would be wonderful to see the same again this year.

Thank you very much for your support, it is greatly appreciated.

Red Nose Day – Friday 20th March 2026

Red Nose Day is back on Friday 20th March! We’ll be joining people across the nation to “take ourselves funny for money” and raise funds for this wonderful cause.

Children are invited to come to school wearing something that makes them smile – this could be comedy hair, a funny accessory, or a bright and cheerful outfit. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you like – the aim is just to have fun and share a laugh together.

This Red Nose Day, let’s giggle again while helping to change lives – putting food on plates, roofs over heads, and helping to keep little ones safe.

If you would like to make a donation towards this fantastic cause, please click the link below to visit our JustGiving page:
