World Book Day 2020

All children looked brilliant and did some excellent work today!

We’ve talked about some of our favorite books and read some stories to each other.

The Vocabulary Parade was a resounding success and World Book Day was fantastic, as always!

Tiger Class – Homework issued on 27th February 2020

Year 1: Some children (not all) have a Maths worksheet on counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s, to consolidate the work done in class this week.

Year 2: Maths worksheet to consolidate the work we have done this week in class (adding and subtracting multiples of 10). They also need to practice either the 10x table, 5x table, or 2x table depending on the results of today’s test. The relevant work is in their Homework and Times Tables books.

Please let me know if you have any queries,

Tiger Class’ Book of the Month – February 2020

Every month, I will try to recommend a book to share with the Tigers. Sometimes, it will link to our Topic work or another subject and sometimes is just a great book to enjoy – reading for pleasure is just as important!

This month, the chosen book is “Kind”, by Alison Green.

With gorgeous pictures by a host of top illustrators, KIND is a timely, inspiring picture book about the many ways children can be kind, from sharing their toys and games to helping those from other countries feel welcome. The book is endorsed by GRUFFALO illustrator Axel Scheffler, and one pound from the sale of each printed copy will go to the Three Peas charity, which gives vital help to refugees from war-torn countries.

Tiger Spellings – 13th February

Please note the children have not been given any new spellings this week. Their spelling books – if brought to School today – will be sent home this afternoon with the results from their latest test.

The books should be brought back to School on Thursday 27th February, when the children will be given the next list of spellings to practice for the following week.

Tiger Class Homework – 13th February

Please note there in NO HOMEWORK for Tigers over half-term. The children have worked extremely hard these last 6 weeks and should just enjoy their well-deserved break.

Have a wonderful week!
