Joe Wicks – Workout Sessions

It was great last week to see so many examples of the work the children had completed as well as photos of them working, so if you like to share your child’s work with me (for rewards and feedback), again this can be done via the Class Dojo portfolio. As usual, if you have any queries, please continue to contact me via the Class Dojo app.

I will also set some daily challenges on a Tuesday and Thursday and send the link out via Class Dojo around 8am each day.

Kind regards and keep well

Updated handwashing advice and resources from government

Updated handwashing advice

It is essential that everyone washes their hands more often, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand washing with soap employs mechanical action that loosens bacteria and viruses from the skin, rinsing them into the drain. Drying hands afterwards makes the skin less hospitable to the virus. Hand sanitiser can be effective if soap is not available or the situation makes using soap less feasible (i.e. when outside) but using hand sanitiser provides none of the virus-destroying friction that rubbing your hands together and rinsing with water provides.

The latest guidance and video on hand washing can be found at:

The e-Bug project is led by Public Health England and has a dedicated webpage for learning resources on hand washing and respiratory hygiene.

Resources are currently available for KS1, KS2 and KS3 and can be used in various settings including schools and at home:

SUMDOG – fun maths and spelling

This motivating website for maths and spelling is being offered for free during the isolation period. I highly recommend registering for  an account following the link below as it is usually very expensive to subscribe to for schools.

Rainbows and Hearts Wanted

Can you help us to create a lovely display of rainbows and hearts for when we all get back together at school?

We would love it if you could spend some of your time on a little art project for us to hang up at school to celebrate us all being together again. It could be a drawing, something made of pipe cleaners, lolly sticks, salt dough, quilling, pom poms, bottle tops, cereal boxes, tissue paper or hama beads – the ideas are endless. Just use what you’ve got at home already. Decorate your house with it for now, then bring it to school when we go back. We will create a big tree of rainbows and hearts.

Thank you and have fun.

Rhino Superveg

Thanks to all of you that completed the ‘Superveg’ challenge yesterday. You obviously had great fun creating your own characters making models, making videos, making power-points and writing shorts stories and comic strips! I was so impressed, so well done!

Have a look at some of the highlights using the link below:

Hope you all have a great Easter Break and I will see you back here very soon with some more activities and daily challenges after the holidays.

Take care

Donations of PPE

We have been asked to share this letter with our families:

Coronavirus COVID19 and Personal Protection Equipment

The Chief Medical Officer has raised the risk of catching coronavirus to high. To reduce the spread of infection, protect those most vulnerable and keep critical services going, we are asking you if you can help us.

This is a call to all businesses and organisations in the county, please help us to help your community. Shropshire Council provides support to a range of people and to do this safely we desperately need more personal protective equipment (PPE). If you own a nail bar, beauty salon, veterinary surgery or any other type of business that uses PPE and do have any spare unopened boxes, particularly gloves, aprons or goggles, we would be really grateful if you can let us have it, as a matter of urgency.

Please contact our PPE coordinator Mike Parry Mike.Parry@Shropshire.gov.uk if you are able to help us with this, they will provide further information on how we will collect it from you.

A big thank you in advance for your support.

Yours sincerely
