Football

An entertaining evening of football took place again with Y3&4 mixed and Y5&6 boys football matches at Ruyton School, where Myddle once again took on St John’s and Baschurch in some exciting games.

In the Y3&4 games, there was some great tackling and determination on show, with all 6 members of the team enjoying their first game of the year. After a 2-1 defeat in the first game, we followed that up with another closely fought second match, narrowly losing out 4-3 to Baschurch, with all of our goals coming from Alfie.

The Y5&6 team dominated the first game, but unfortunately lost out 1-0 to Bachurch, but they came out on top 1-0 in the second game against Ruyton, with a penalty from Charlie being the difference between the two teams.

Well done to all of the children who represented their school this evening.

Online Payments – Important Information

Please can we ask that when making payments via the School Gateway online that you allocate the money to the correct payment destination for each child. For example school dinner money needs to be paid into the school dinner money payment option separately under each child, and Sunrise/Sunset money needs to be paid into the Sunrise/Sunset option separately under each child you are paying for, not all added together into one lump sum on one payment. Nursery fees and after school clubs also have their own separate options to choose, as do school trips and other events as they come up. It is essential that you allocate the money to the correct payment option in order for us to track that you have paid. We would be extremely grateful for your immediate cooperation in this matter in order for us to ensure your funds are allocated to the correct places. Many thanks.

Hi 5 Netball

Seven children represented Myddle CE Primary School in a High 5 Netball at the Corbet Secondary School, against 7 other teams. After a comfortable 1-0 win in the opening match against Kinnerley, mistakes were costly in the second game, with Ruyton running out comfortable 4-0 victors. In the third game, the children avoided those earlier mistakes and put in a much improved performance, losing out narrowly 3-2 against Baschurch, despite being in the lead for long periods. The final game saw a 3-3 draw against Nesscliffe, which meant that overall, we finished in 5th place.

Well done to:

Georgia, Maddie, Reuben, Charlie, Oliver, Lily and Megan

Nursery Parent and Toddler sessions

Don’t forget that we run our parent, baby and toddler sessions on Friday mornings in the nursery. These are a really good way to meet other parents and familiarise your children with our school and nursery.  This week, we only had one family, which is a shame. We do need more people to attend to make it viable, so please spread the word if you are able. Thank you for your support.

New nursery teacher

We are very pleased to announce that due to our thriving nursery numbers, we have now appointed a qualified teacher. Carol Davies will join Kirsty and Jodie in the nursery full time and will begin working with us after half term.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Fran Jones who works some of the week in the nursery and some at Baschurch. From half term, Fran will be full time at Baschurch. We are very grateful to Fran for being flexible and adaptable across the federation.
