Myddle Fun Run!

Reminder that our annual Myddle Multi-Terrain Fun Run will be taking place on Sunday 24th March at 10.30am.

This is a huge fundraiser for the school, historically raising between £1000-£1500 and brings in around 200 runners competing in the 3 mile, 6 mile and 1 mile fun run.

In order to make it work, we need lots of volunteers who will be involved in marshalling along the route, helping administrate the races (check in, time keeping etc) and route/general set up.  We usually start setting up the courses 2-3 days in advance.  We also have a very popular refreshments and cake stall so if you are able to make or donate something we would be most appreciative.

If you can spare any time to help in any capacity or would like to chat about how you can help please get in touch with the organiser, Cathy Cooke, on 07919 592782 or the school office.  Thank  you for your support.

Myddle Primary School Memorial dedicated to Phil Jones

Myddle Primary School and PTA are raising money to fund a memorial dedicated to the wonderful Phil Jones.

Phil was a dedicated member of our School Governors and was Chair for several years.  Phil could never do enough for our school and nothing was ever too much trouble for him.  He was always there to help staff, pupils and parents whenever they needed him.

As Phil was a keen musician and had a love for all things musical, we would like to purchase an outdoor musical instrument in his memory.  This outdoor instrument will be installed on the school playground, for all of our children to play with.

Phil’s genial warmth, sense of fun and ability to bring humour into any situation is sadly missed and we feel that this outdoor instrument is an excellent way to keep his memory alive.

If you would like to make a donation, please visit the link below –

If you would prefer to make a cash donation, there is a collection pot in the school office.

We only have 28 days to raise our funds! This project will only receive pledges if at least £1,500 is pledged by the deadline of Mon 01 Apr 2019 so it is so important that we reach our target!

Please do donate, but if you can’t donate right now you can help us in other ways! Please share this project with anyone you think would support us. Share the link at the top of the funding page on Twitter, Facebook, email, your website, blog, mention us in a phone call or even just a chat over the fence! Please support us and help make a difference to our students, all in the memory of a fantastic man, Phil Jones, who is sadly missed by all at the school.

Staffing News

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Rachel Smith as our new School Administrator and she will be starting with us at the end of this term.

We have also appointed Liz Leese as our new Forest School Leader.  Liz has already started with us and will be with us every Tuesday and Wednesday.  Liz is also Forest School Leader at Baschurch Primary School and Baschurch Pre-School.

We would like to inform parents that Forest School sessions will now be on a rota.  Although Jaguar Class will not have Forest School this half term, please be assured they will be taking part again next term.

We hope both Mrs Smith and Mrs Leese will be very happy here at Myddle Primary.
