Nursery Parents – Collection and Drop off

We are continually reviewing our collection and drop off arrangements in school to ensure there is sufficient space for everyone to stay safe.

We have noticed that Panda and Nursery areas gets very busy in a fairly small area of the playground. With this in mind, we are proposing to ask parents of Nursery children to arrive at school via the usual main school entrance, then follow the one way system down the playground to the bottom exit gate. We would then ask that you drop off/collect your child from the main entrance of Nursery (by the bike shed).

We are hopeful that this will alleviate some of the congestion but rest assured that we will monitor it closely and adjust this if necessary.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to call school on 01939 290834.

Thank you for your co-operation

Mrs Smith

Where to get your LTF tests for home

From Shropshire council bulletin:

Families can take-up rapid testing offer

The Government has confirmed twice-weekly testing using rapid Lateral Flow Tests.

These will be made available for free to all adults in households with primary school-aged, secondary school-aged or college-aged children, for those without symptoms. This includes adults in childcare and support bubbles.

The twice-weekly testing will also be offered to adults working in the wider school community, including bus drivers, taxi drivers and after school club leaders.

Where you can pick up your Lateral Flow home testing kits

As a school, we really encourage you to collect your packs so that we can keep the school community as safe as possible. No appointment necessary, just wear a mask and go to one of the centres above. They can be posted to you and there was a link in my main post on the newsletter.

Parents – stay safe at school gates

We are urging parents to observe social distancing and wear face coverings when dropping off and collecting their children from school.

Last year, staff at some schools had raised concerns that not all parents were observing social distancing, and some were ignoring the measures designed to keep them and others safe.

Remember, while schools are reopening, we’re still in the third Lockdown, so please:

Avoid gathering in close groups to catch up or chat outside schools

Follow your school’s instructions on safely dropping off and picking up, and leave immediately once this is done.

Thank You

To all Parents and Careers,

From all of us at Myddle, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the support you have given us in helping to teach your children over the past 8 weeks. We know it hasn’t been easy, with many of you juggling work and caring for siblings while managing home schooling tasks.

We can’t begin to tell you how rewarding it has been to be regularly receiving feedback and photos of the children’s work. We know how hard this has been to keep on top of and we really have appreciated it.

We are all so excited to welcome your children back to school on Monday where we can take back the reins and give you all a very well deserved break.

We hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Many thanks

Mr Glover

Ventilation in School – Appropriate School Clothing

As I sure you are aware, having a good source of ventilation around the school building is a massive part of our Covid 19 School Plan.

Although we have been lucky with the weather recently, it is still extremely cold at times and this does affect the temperature in the building.

Please can we ask that your child attends school in their winter uniform, and brings a warm coat with them every day.

Panda class staff – update

Dear Pandas and panda parents,

We are so excited to have you all back on Monday in school. I just wanted to let you know that Mrs McGrath won’t be coming back as soon as we expected and you will still have Mrs Turner as your teacher for a few more weeks. Mrs McGrath is having an operation next week, then once she is fighting fit again, she will come back to Myddle, probably around Easter time.

We wish Mrs McGrath all the best for a speedy recovery.

Rapid lateral flow testing for households and bubbles of school pupils and staff

Rapid lateral flow testing for households and bubbles of school pupils and staff

On Sunday 28 February, the Department of Health and Social Care announced that from Monday 1 March, households with primary school, secondary school and college age children, including childcare and support bubbles, can test themselves twice every week at home as schools return from Monday 8 March. Households, childcare and support bubbles of primary, secondary and college staff can also be tested. Twice-weekly testing will also be offered to adults working in the wider school community, including bus drivers and after school club leaders. The twice-weekly test kits can be accessed:

  • via employers if they offer testing to employees
  • at a local test site
  • by collecting a home test kit from a test site
  • by ordering a home test kit online

Schools should not give test kits to parents, carers or household members and should not order more test kits for this purpose. Letters containing advice on where to access testing will be made available for schools to share with parents and staff shortly.

This guidance provides information on who can be tested and how you can get a test.

March 8th – school re-opening

We are so pleased to be able to welcome all pupils back to school on Monday 8th March. We have put together a poster for your children with some information showing them what will be the same and what will be different. This is coming to you via Dojo as each teacher has adapted it to let you know the new topics, PE days, start and finish times and other specific class information.

Essentially, school will be operating very much as it was between September and Christmas.

Next week, the teachers are going to send home a sheet for your child to complete to let us know how they are feeling about coming back, what they liked and disliked about lockdown etc. so please look out for that and bring it back on the 8th.

We really can’t wait to have everyone back and start our journey to normality. I bet you are looking forward to it as well – tidier house, more food left in the cupboards, better sleep and most importantly, being a parent again rather than a teacher! We think you have been absolutely brilliant and can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and support.

Even though some normality is returning to school, we still need to make you aware that a bubble could still be closed at any time if someone in our school tests positive for Covid-19. All of our staff and Little Angels staff are taking Lateral Flow Tests twice a week so that we can take immediate action and limit any potential spread from staff members.

We need your support to help monitor our pupils. If your child is displaying any Covid symptoms prior to returning to school, you must not bring them to school until you have received a negative test result or until they have completed a 10 day isolation period.

Our wonderful school administrator is an expert in the Covid requirements and timeframes for reporting and isolating, so please call Mrs Smith at any time if you are unsure of what to do.

Thank you for your continued support

Many thanks,

Mrs Williams
